Round-Up: Mom-Friendly Sliver and Demi Wedge Sandals

Screen shot 2011-05-18 at 11.05.08 PM  S. and I have hotly debated the mom-friendliness of flare denim: "So dumpy when they pool at the ankle. . . " fervent nodding, "Only hot with platforms. . . "  But with S., where there's a will there's a way, and–rocket scientist that she quite literally is–she of course found the perfect solution for moms: sliver (or demi) wedge sandals.  In fact, I'm fired up and ready to upgrade my Gap flares to premium denim based on her breakthrough post Wearing Flares with Flats

Naturally, I went OCD combing the Internets for the perfect demi wedge sandals and I found more than I can include here.  Of my eleven picks, I'm drooling most over the Kenneth Cole Reaction Far Out wedge in stone because I love the look and I've worn other versions of this ultra-comfy synthetic cork shoe before–they are insanely mom- and walking-friendly.

Oh M, I miss you. This part made me crack up: “…dumpy when they pool at the ankle. . . fervent nodding”. It so sounds like us. :)
And I love when you go all OCD on stuff. Like sandals. And strollers. Lol

Love the idea of a demi-wedge! But I must find some that don’t have any ankle-strap at all, because as much as I love the look, they make my legs look like logs. Sigh.
    Thanks for the inspiration!

Just picked up the Kenneth Cole wedges for $39.50 at Piperlime. I’m due to give birth to our second any day now and these will be my reward for the hard work to come! Thank you!

    S. – Miss you too, chicky! Sooo much. Lane – are you sure?!? Your legs don’t look like logs in any of your pics–maybe try a nude/neutral glad style? Sam, congrats on the new babe & let me know how the KCs work out!

These are so great! Love them!
However, Lane- I know how you feel. My ankles swell. By the end of the day it is far from pretty. Let me know if you find some sans ankle strap.
Thanks for helping to give me inspiration!

Ankle straps are a no go for me as well. I’ve got thick, supportive ankles. Lane, your legs could never (ever!) look like logs :)

Found these “thrifty” sliver wedges at Kohls and actually really love them:

I like the lace-up action (for those not wanting the ankle strap) and although they are “thrifty” they are actually pretty great looking in person with flares, skinnies and shorts and dresses.

    Tysie – Nice pick!
Also, I just ran into a mom at J.Crew wearing these sliver wedges, and they looked really cute on: http://www.zappos.com/softspots-ventura-light-tan-m-veg-calf
She said they were run-around comfortable.

I know that this post was a while ago, but does anyone know the style name of the Kenneth Cole wedge? I love them, but can’t find them without the name! Thanks!
