We’re Just Takin’ Some Time….

Happy start of summer, Mamas!!  As most of you know….M and I get rather lazy over the summer.  Like…maybe we'll post, maybe we won't…kind of lazy.

But, you know, we will.  From time-to-time.  Or perhaps all in a bunch, if we're feeling inspired. No rules, Mamas.  No rules in the summertime.

After all of my self-proclaimed expertise on flying alone with kids….I am still recovering from my flight on Saturday.  Which involved me sitting topless on an airplane.  There are really not enough drinking hours in a day to make up for that one, Mamas.  If you really want to suffer through the full story, you can get it here.  Thankfully, I was wearing a cute nursing bra.  Which, speaking of, we rounded up our favorite cute nursing bras for summer over at Mom.me

Also on Mom.me?  M and I whipped up a little celebrity-mom style inspiration.

We hope you had a fabulously relaxing Memorial Day Weekend Mamas!  Personally, I am SO ready for summer.  I can't wait to roast marshmallows, or squish sand between my toes…even kiss a greasy, sunscreen-covered baby!  Or…watch for lightning bugs, blow dandelion fluff, make popsicles, pick berries, get a bright pedicure, and — best of all? Sit on the dock with a beer.  Ahhh….bliss.

What's your idea summer bliss, Mamas?  I'm always up for new ways to get my summer-happy on.

xoxo,

S

Thanks for sharing the link to your personal blog so I could read that amazing story about you being topless on the plane. It makes my flight from hell (when my 10 month old threw her full bottle into a stranger’s head, amongst other mishaps) seem like a cakewalk! Happy Summer!

OMG! The story about your flight made me laugh, cry, grimace everything!!! You poor thing. My daughter recently threw up in my hand while de-boarding a plane in Rome and I had no idea what to do with my handful of puke. I had to keep moving and there weren’t any bathrooms even after getting off the plane… so eventually I dumped it into a planter in the terminal. And it wasn’t even a real planter with soil… it was for fake plants. :(

It was like you were right here telling me this story. I may never fly with my children. Ever. I am sure I would have died.

OMG. I read your story and could relate : ) My now 3 yrd old threw up on me in a couple of flights and I was mortified to say the least… Now I only take short direct flights and sit in the aisle to minimize the craziness. I’m too so looking forward the summer…which I’ll spend by the beach in beautiful Maine. There is nothing like the ocean to take my stress away and wear out active toddlers Have a wonderful and relaxing summer!

    Thank you for sharing!
I’m at work and needed a sanity break, so I decided to check your blog — I literally had to close my door and hide behind the monitor so noone could see me as tears rolled down my face. Moms really do roll with the punches. Priceless!

My daughter is upset because I’m disturbing her with my laughing. Sorry. Been there. Well, not exactly there, but I have ended up topless in public by mistake and I have had to deal with a whole lot of puke in public and I have had bad flights. What is it about motherhood that make such experiences so common?

We love you because you’re real, and because you DON’T post when you could be kissing a greasy, sunscreeny baby! Enjoy the weather, ladies.

Awesomely awful story about the flight :-) Reminded me of my friend’s story (although still not on the same level as your experience) when she was in a McDonald’s that had a Chuck E. Cheese type set of crawl through tubes that were actually inside the restaurant and over the dining room tables. Her 3-4ish year old daughter was in a playtube and decided she needed to go pee and couldn’t hold it until she got out of the tube. So my friend was standing under the playtube trying to catch her daughter’s pee in her hands. Only a mother would do something like that.
