The Shopping Enabler’s Top 5 Thanksgiving Weekend Shopping Picks!

I had every intention of posting this in time for Black Friday shopping.  However…due to a little bug called the stomach flu, the days leading up to Thanksgiving were spent cleaning up after my poor sick babies….and I was the lucky girl who spent her actual Thanksgiving wrapped around the toilet (I made it through dinner…but not dessert.  No pumpkin pie for me.  And probably no turkey ever, ever again.  I. can't. even. think. about it.)  Ironically, I was wearing the very shoes I planned to write up.  So let's talk about that, shall we?

Shop:  The Aerosoles.com sale (20% off your entire purchase plus free shipping)

What to Buy:  Aerosoles Tapestry Pumps (in Red Suede)….$50 before the 20% off

Redpumps

I know these look a tad clunky in the picture.  But on?  Oh. My.  So flirty and fun!  The heel is a perfect height – you can still manage the kiddos (even carrying them), yet it's high enough to be sexy.  This shoe is seriously comfortable – my new go-to for any festive event (with or without kids!!).  And this weekend Aerosoles is offering an additional 20% off your entire purchase and free shipping.  The red suede is already on sale at $50 before the discount (down from $80)…but I'm also contemplating the blue suede or the leopard print.  The leopard is only $30 (before the additional 20% off)!

They also have some seriously festive flats…..

Shop:  J.Crew's 25% Off Everything (In Stores and Online) CODE:  color25

What to Buy:  Uhh…everything?

Jcrewthanksgiving
Ok – if I had to narrow it down…I'm totally in love with J.Crew's perfect shirts in plaid.  They are wonderfully thin and drapey, and are some magic cross between a flannel and a regular shirt.  I own last year's version of ivory tartan (pictured on the left) and it is one of the most-worn items I own.  I wear this bad boy under everything.  This year, I'm going with the Perfect Shirt in black watch.  Ignore the cah-razy styling above…I'll wear mine with black skinnies and red lipstick.

I also love J.Crew's old standby, the Shawl-Collar cashmere sweater.  It's already on sale for $179 (down from $228) and I love the way it instantly dresses up a v-neck tee.  When bought a size larger (cashmere is so wonderfully drapy that you have some size flexibility)…it covers a small pooch, and I'm also able to nurse in it.

Shop:  Sierra Trading Post Extra 25% Off anything over $100

What to Buy:  Crazy-cool snowboots!!!

Snowboots

Sierra Trading Post currently has the best prices on some of the snowboots I've been coveting.  Specifically, Sorel's sporty 88 Winter Pac boot, $114 before the Thanksgiving discount (down from $175).   Also, the uber-stylish (albeit very heavy) Cate the Great, already on sale for $139 before the Thanksgiving discount (down from $200).  Lastly, I'm loving Pajar's take on the cool winter boot, in plaid, also $114 before discount.

Shop:  Tea Collection's Thanksgiving Sale

What To Buy:  Boy's tops for $10, pants for $15.  Girl's dresses for $15, $10 for leggings.  The boys stuff (sadly) is almost sold out (except for pants)….but there are a bunch of very cute girl's dresses….

Teasale

Shop:  Ann Taylor's 40% Off Everything (25% off sale items)

What to Buy:  Party Skirts!!

Atskirts

For a perfect holiday party uniform, pair any of above skirts with a cozy sweater, tights and fabulous heels.  You'll be warm and glamorous.

Skirts, from left to right (prices shown are all before discount):  Lace Pencil Skirt $98, Sequin Tulle Mini Skirt $98, and Ponte Metallic Side-Zip Skirt $88

Happy Thanksgiving Weekend, Mamas!  And happy shopping….

xo,

There’s a link to a video of the Aerosole pumps. I think it helps to see on an actual pair of legs. :) They’re so cute!

Thanks for the great suggestions. I particularly love the red suede pumps and lace skirt. Being quite clueless, could they be worn together? If so, what would I wear on my legs, black tights, nude or black stockings, something else?

OMG – you TOTALLY enable me. For the past 3 Christmases (& birthdays), I’ve either begged for – or purchased for myself – something you’ve recommended. Your recommendations are always spot-on, thank you!!! :)
