Friday!

Well, Mamas.  I made it.  I'm more than a week past my first chemo treatment, and tomorrow marks the day that all major side-effects should abate.  (Theoretically, of course.)

Happy, happy Friday.

I feel like I've earned the weekend.  Chemo sucks.  I've been writing quite a bit over on my personal blog, so if you want any of the gory details, that's the place to go.  Kay E, this one is for you. xo

Now let's talk about fun stuff:

Did you know that there was a lingerie fashion week back in August?  Yeah, neither did I.  But I love that one of the runway shows was You! Lingerie's maternity and nursing line.  Yay for sexy nursing bras.

Christie from Childhood 101 just released a book called Time to Create: Hands-On Explorations in Process Art for Young Children.  Childhood 101 is my go-to place for play ideas and inspiration, so I'm excited to check out her book. She's broken it out into sections for Drawing, Painting, Sculpting, etc. but what I'm most excited about is this:

Time to Create also includes tips for fostering creativity, advice for choosing the right art project, suggestions for minimising the mess, ideas for making space to create and for choosing and organising art materials.

God knows I need help "minimizing the mess".  Someday I'll show pictures.  My house, post-art-project, is terrifying

My friend Julie just sent me this amazing terrarium from Twig, and it made me sob and sob and sob (in the best possible way).  That lone figure, holding an 'I LOVE YOU' sign, is like tonic for the soul.  On a funnier note, I might get the Boobies one for Mike's office.

I found the perfect sweatshirt.  No really.  IT'S PERFECT.  It's thin, drapey, and "bien fait" is a much cooler way of saying 'I did good'.  (One of those french phrases that doesn't translate well.)  You'll see it soon on the blog, but most sizes are already backordered, so if you want one, don't wait.

Denver Mamas!  Have you heard of Sugar District and Co?  It's an organic bakeshop (started by a rockin' single mom) that delivers.  Place your order by 10PM and voila!  Goodies are baked fresh and delivered the next day.  Jen from Sugar District was nice enough to send out a box of yum last week…and I highly recommend the gluten-free peanut butter brownies.  OMG.

Love Ashley Ann's side-braid tutorial.  No ponytail holder required!

Refinery 29 was styling up some birkenstocks.  Yessssss.

Lastly, this article reminded me of the importance of having patience (especially at bedtime).  But be warned:  it's a tear-jerker.

xo,

S
