Reader Style: Danielle’s Versatile Cardi

Google+ Pinterest LinkedIn Tumblr +

We were delighted to get the following note from reader Danielle:

This one is for Jess…my beloved Itat cardigan was at it again today for a trip to see the Nutcracker with all 3 of my girls. When the baby was ready for a snack, I slipped her right under and no one was the wiser. SO much more subtle than throwing a gigantic piece of floral fabric over my shoulder! I wore it a ton when I was pregnant, too, because my torpedo belly just grew right out through the middle!

Forgive my weak styling and selfie skills…hopefully you get the idea 🙂 And take note of the Rag & Bone Dre jeans I finally splurged on when my post partum body stabilized! THANK YOU Mom Edit for the work you do so that I can spend my time with my crazy girlies instead of searching for cute jeans!!!

Danielle, thank you for taking time out of your undoubtedly busy day (3 ADORABLE girls, wow!) to write in to The Mom Edit. We love nothing more than to see our readers rocking the pieces we love so much, too. That cardi looks SO chic on you and the entire team is loving how you’ve proved that piece truly versatile and useful in your everyday – that’s exactly what it’s all about.

Don’t think we missed those Dre’s for a SECOND. How good are they?! Be sure to update us with some date night styling of those bad boys, too (;

If you (or your friend) is LOVING a piece recommended by TME, send us an email! It’ll make our day AND you could end up in your very own post.

    Any clothes suggestions for an older mommy (early 40’s) of school age children still trying to shed her baby belly?

    • Cardis like this are great, and also sweatshirt fabric jackets which have been covered a ton on the blog – they are amazing! And I swear by Paige Hoxton high rise skinnies which I wear with t’s, tops, blouses and sweaters all year long, mostly with the tops untucked/draped/skimming, occasionally half-tucked – the high rise hits at my natural waist so it covers my pooch nicely rather than fighting with it, but not so high that I feel like I’m wearing “HIGH WAIST JEANS” – just comfortable (although note I am high waisted…) I’m a size 10-12 US, curvy with a waist and wear a size 32 jeans – I probably could size down to the 31 but like feeling that I’m not poured into my jeans. Hartmann wash is a nice, plain, dark denim wash, I also like them in the black. I’m 44 with 2x boys aged 6 and 4, working part time, so these jeans take me from sneakers and boots at the playground to heels in a smart-casual office with no problems. I also like the Paige Verdugo skinny which is more of a mid rise.

  2. I was checking out my favorite blog TME and Danielle, your beautiful face popped up. You look so familiar! By chance are you Danielle from Bluffton?

  3. Danielle,
    I love this look, I wish I had this cardigan when I was nursing! What a Workhorse..both practical and stylish… you have a lovely family too

  4. Danielle! Absolutely. Stunning. I can’t tell you how much I LOVE everything about these pics… you look amazing AND you took a great dressing room selfie WHILE nursing. That’s serious rockstars status. My dressing room selfies are ALWAYS blurry, and that’s with two free hands. Keep rockin’ mama, and thanks so much for this!
