Go-To Outfit: Stripes, Moto Jacket + Flat Boots

Finally. Y’all, I’ve struggled since the holidays to find a new outfit I love. It was probably all the snow days I’ve spent in leggings and Uggs, but um, ugh. The creativity was gone. But…I’m back, baby! I randomly threw this outfit together for a kid’s birthday party (in all fairness, he is a pretty stylish 5 year old) last weekend and I’m loving it. I wanted comfortable but cool and I’ve landed on a new favorite…striped tee, moto jacket, blanket scarf & flat black boots. Check it.

As my dad would say, “I love it when a plan comes together.” And by plan, I mean a new go-to ensemble. It has all the elements I’m continually looking for…graphic pattern, comfy boots, warmth, versatility and lots of black.

Wearing

JacketBlankNYC Easy Rider Faux Leather Jacket – I adore this. Snap it up. Not all sizes are left in black, but there’s a dark olive green that is rad. And the price on this is just oh so good. Wearing a small.

Scarf – (similar) La Double 7 Block Border Reversible Scarf – This camel color scarf has been a real go-to in my wardrobe. The color is so good with black and warms up and outfit in more ways than one!

Top – (similar, same brand) Jcrew Striped Boatneck – My top is sadly sold out. It’s a bit more oversized than the one linked to, but same stripes. They just nail it with the striped tees at Jcrew. A great striped tee is such a go-to for me, especially in spring and summer, but amazing for layering right now, too.

JeansMadewell 9″ High Riser Skinny – You know it, my favorite jean. True to size.

BootsTopshop Klash Boot – These are my new go-to boots. They’re soft, comfy and just trendy enough and just classic enough. Only a couple of sizes left, but they are popular sizes. On sale. True to size.

BagRebecca Minkoff Julian Backpack – I keep thinking “oh, I’ll look for a new bag style” NOPE. I love this so much. I want another color.

    • It is a lot to deal with! On this one I fold it in half (so it’s a triangle) place the v of the triangle in front and then wrap the ends around my neck and then bring them back around in front under the v. I hope that helps!

  1. I recently purchased that BlankNYC faux jacket and I couldn’t be happier! I’m easing in to splurging on a real leather jacket and thought this was a good way to test the waters.

  2. Thank you for the round-up of affordable moto jackets .I am 5’4 but I have a long torso so the one from Express would be perfect. I always find the Moto jackets are just a little too short . great look..love the black jacket, Stripes and scarf combo

  3. Your link to the jeans you are wearing takes me to the scarf page–can you fix–because I love those jeans! Thank you!

  4. Where did you find those glasses? I’ve been looking for a pair like that and I think we have a similar face shape.

  5. I just grabbed those boots a few weeks ago. They are perfect; they look and feel far more expensive than their price tag. Honestly I wasn’t expecting much, but they are SO comfortable, such soft leather. I ordered down and they’re too small but had the larger size not become available I would’ve even paid to get them stretched! Great find! Cute go to outfit. I love the stripes done in a not preppy way. I’m sold.

  6. Thank you so much for this post — I had been looking for a new moto jacket but could not bring myself to drop a mortgage payment on it. Bought the one you have from Nordstroms and it is PERFECTION! I’m thrilled beyond belief!
