An Easy, 5 min. Makeup Routine Anyone Can Do

I messaged Scotti a while back with a makeup SOS:  Help me, Scotti!!  What is the smallest set of makeup products I need to look less tired????

I had gotten to the age where my skin doesn’t naturally look good…as in, I’m not 20 any more (so sad). I get these persistent red bumps, acne, have uneven skin tone, lines  and some days my face just looks…tired.

I knew that it was time to take my makeup routine a bit more seriously, but had no idea where to start. I’m the kind of gal that would usually just run to Walgreens and pick up your run-of-the-mill drugstore product. Maybelline was my go-to (until like 4 months ago…ha ha). Also, I am super duper basic when it comes to make-up. I don’t want to have to do a lot, so the least amount of products the better.

Thanks to Scotti and her magical powers, she put together a list of products that would get me to an easy (but less tired) face I’ve been wanting & needing.

Here are the products she suggested:

& here is how I use them…(it takes me maybe 5 min. total)

The Before:

The After:

easy everyday make up

Um. yehhhh. Thank God for easy makeup. I don’t have to look like a tired, overwhelmed mom every day. *high fives all around*

Here’s to brighter faces in 5 min. or less (because who has the time??).

Check out Scotti’s other make-up posts for more inspiration…and to be reminded that none of us will ever be as glam & fabulous as she. haha. 😉

Oh! & if you use any make-up products that you CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT…let me know, because I’ll continue to add to the reader makeup boutique in this post.

Cheers,

Cams

  1. Christy Hartman on

Tarte creaseless concealer! I went home with six little sample pots from sephora and this was the winner. I’ve been using it a couple years now. Nothing is “creaseless” (if you have creases) but this one definitely hides them the best.

  2. If you have problem skin, Mario Badescu’s line of cleansers, toners, and moisturizers is THE BEST. I had breakouts of horrible adult acne after a bad experience with an IUD, and this line is the only thing that has worked. Their glycolic toner is awesome.

  3. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer! It is the best concealer I have ever used for my dark circles. Perfect coverage, lasts all day, and doesn’t feel gross!

  4. I can apply all of these drugstore products at stoplights – no fancy brushes needed – and have a finished face by the time I reach my destination:
Almay Smart Shade Anti-aging Skin Tone Matching Makeup SPF 20 foundation $14 and concealer $10
Maybelline Eyestudio Color Tattoo Concentrated Crayon in Barely Beige $7
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Rosy Future $6

  5. Can you share the video you watched for the highlighter? I’m so perplexed by this product. I want to like it, but not sure I’m applying properly.

  6. Hi, do you have any suggestions for selecting the right shade of foundation if you are ordering online? I’d like to try the lighter coverage one you use but am not sure which shade to pick. Thanks!

    • Well, I am super pale…so I went with the lightest one, but now that it’s summer I have gone up a shade. What do you usually go with? I’d compare it to that. That’s a tough one, though, I know. ha!! I have been SO helpful.

  7. Hi hi! Which color are you using for the Becca highlighter? I’m assuming that’s the product you used above your brows, down the center of your nose, and on your cheekbones? Thanks!

  8. Which color eye liner, lip color, and blush specifically did you get? I couldn’t tell from the links and have similar coloring to you, so would appreciate the specific names. Thanks!
