Jumpsuit, Styled

So…apparently it’s unofficially jumpsuit week for me (see also: here). After a little polling on Facebook, you guys said yes to styling up this military jumpsuit I found at Abercrombie recently. There’s no denying a jumpsuit is interesting, different and a one-and-done outfit, but they are a little particular to style.

I think I enjoy a piece like this because it is a little unique and this one feels a little bit tough/Top Gun style, which I am totally ok with. I know it could border on safari or zoo keeper, but with the right accessories I think you can safely stay away from costume territory.

What worked for me here were was: wedges (definitely needed a little heel to be most flattering here), shiny accessories, and a pretty, semi-bold lip. These elements kept this casual, military style piece still feminine.

I typically shy away from belts since I don’t have a very long torso, but I had to do a belt with this for obvious reasons. I kept the belt a similar value to the suit and I think it works. If I could find an olive green belt that matched that would be a winner.

JumpsuitAbercrombie Zip Up Jumpsuit So cute and a great price. Love that it comes in petite and tall sizing, too. I’m wearing a PS and it works, but I think I could’ve gone with a regular small, too. It’s alllmost too short in the rise and length. It’s selling out quickly. The chambray version has a few more sizes left. Both are cute!

LipstickMAC Lipstick in Twig – My favorite go-to color. Love layering this one over brighter colors to tone them down a bit, too.

Someone on Facebook suggested I try a leopard belt and I loved the idea. But when I tried it I didn’t love it as much. I always have trouble loving belts on me since I am fairly short-waisted. I went with the black belt because it was closer in value to the green and didn’t break up my waist as much. I’m also wearing flat sandals here even though it’s hard to tell. They were ok but I did prefer the wedges I have on to make the suit most flattering. But the sandals would totally work for daytime wear.

Aaaaand…I guess I thought we should take a jumping picture for this post. Haha. Our timing was a little off, but how could I not include one of myself looking so excited. JUMPSUITS FTW!!

Ah, I love it! And I love your style overall. Sweet new tattoo as well. Thanks for all of the great ideas TME.

  2. Love it! I’m like you, not a huge fan of belts. Short torso and long legs….can’t make them work. Your little is adorable too!
