At this point, you’re probably d.o.n.e. trying to find comfortable oufits, let alone making sure they’re cute. We feel ya. That’s why we took four of our easiest summer outfit ideas and translated them into maternity outfits that you can wear now, then transition to fall by adding a few key layers.

Maternity Boyfriend Shorts + Embroidered Top

Shana showed us how to stay cool and look cute during sweltering late summer days in an easy uniform of pretty embroidered tops + boyfriend shorts – so comfortable when it’s too hot to live and you’re sweating for two. Switch out shorts for maternity boyfriend jeans and a long sleeved floaty top this fall.

Silent D Studded Suede Boots, Anthropologie: The prettiest soft gray booties get an edge with studded designs. I love the low low cut ankle for when your ankles swell to 3 times their normal size but you still have to wear shoes because society.

Actress Ankle Boots, Asos: (The ones above disappeared from the site but I actually like these ones from Asos better – the sides are cut lower to accomodate any ankle swelling, the price is better and the stripes on the back make them versatile when trying to figure out what they “go” with.

Bettye by Bettye Muller Flynn Perforated Booties, Anthropologie: The soft perforated suede keeps your feet cool and the low heel means they’re walkable through all trimesters!

Maternity Slip Dresses + Tees

Julieta came up with this cute 90s inspired nursing-friendly outfit that you can start wearing way before baby’s here! I included some cropped t-shirts for ease of layering without the bulk (and nursing access) but your favorite tees that have gotten a little too short to cover your growing bump would work too!

Whoa, Wait Maternity Dress, Walmart: For the price ($14!) I’ll overlook the weird product name. Wear this as a swim coverup or pjs, too!

Bow Tie Sleeve Cropped Top, Asos: Great basic to layer under slipdresses or long v-neck sweaters for easy nursing.

The Maternity Turtleneck, Isabella Oliver: This seems like something chic French women wear during pregnancy. Layered it under dresses this fall/winter or just on it’s own, destined to become a maternity capsule wardrobe workhorse.

Mama 2-Pack Tops, H&M: H&M makes the best basic tees, even more convenient that these come in a two pack.

ASOS Crop T-shirt In Stripe With 3/4 Sleeves: Cute red & white stripes to pair with black slipdresses is a no-brainer.

Maternity White Jeans + Graphic Tees

The beauty of Shana’s white jeans outfits lies in their simplicity – it’s a clean, stylish look that’s easy to duplicate. Stick to a tight color palette so you can just grab & go so you can focus on more important things (re: snacks & naps).

  1. Thank you thank you! I’m not sure why it took me until my 3rd pregnancy to finally decide to invest in some clothes I love – but this time around I’m doing it! I’m living in France now, they’re more fashionable here than where I was and I can’t take 5 months of feeling like a bag again lol! I love these jumpsuit options – too cute. I ordered 2 pairs of Hatch pants preemptively and although I’m not showing yet, they’re already favorites of mine. I highly suggest the brand!
