Much like my Christmas outfit for this year, I wanted something different for NYE – something that has that flowing, easy feel to it…but also checks the holiday-worthy box.
We don’t usually go ALL OUT on New Year’s Eve anymore, having three young kids. Honestly, I feel incredibly lame every time it rolls around, but ya’ll…12 am is way past my bed time and I usually opt for pj’s, a drinky on the couch and a sweet, tired kiss with my guy before I call it quits and schlep to bed. Call me a regular old party pooper.
However, this year I have the itch (for once) to actually go out and get our party on. I think we may head uptown and grab dinner and drinks at a pub. cRaZy. Dinner and drinks?! I know. Whoah. It’s the long tunic I found that motivated me to make real plans this year.
& Then I Wore Sneaks
…because I’ll try to wear sneakers with everything.
Also, it’s another NYE alternative, for those of you that need something a bit more casual and/or DO NOT DO HEELS.
BTW: you could totally throw in a silver metallic clutch with this and make it a bit more glam.
top: Free People New Day Embroidered Tunic (wearing size small) – black is fully stocked, but if you’re looking for more sizes in the pink, Macy’s has it, too. I LOVE THIS THING. It’s comfortable, easy and looks great over jeans.
jeans: Levi’s 505 C Cropped Slim Straight Jeans (wearing size 28 – one size up from my normal) – one of my favorite pairs of jeans, but FYI I did crop these on my own (right above the hem line). I like them even better a little roughed up. Levi’s do tend to be more stiff, so I usually go up on size. That said, I do find these to “wear in” rather quickly…and are very comfortable.
booties: Steve Madden Effect Ankle Boot (multi, TTS) – I was uncertain about these until I put them on. Perfect. The sparkle factor is spot-on. Not overdone at all…and I would wear these with other outfits, not just for NYE.
bag: Nordstrom Stripe Glitter Minaudière – Gwen pointed out that this bag is like a cheaper version of the super expensive Edie Parker striped clutches. YESSS. It’s a fun little bag – more than perfect for the holidays.
earrings: Baublebar Titania Crystal Stud Earrings – these are fab. What I like about them is they’re two different sizes. Sounds weird, but look at the product photos! I love the look.
lip: Urban Decay Vice Lipstick (Backtalk, matte) – my favorite lipstick BY FAR. I had been looking for the perfect shade for Winter and well, I found it.
sneakers: Golden Goose Super Star Sneaker (silver – TTS) – these are my babies. I don’t know if you saw my review on them, but they’ve been one of those *special* things for me. I hope to have them for years…until they have holes in the soles.
Do you have real adult plans for the big night or will you be the smart parent, staying at home and going to bed at a reasonable hour?
Either way, CHEERS.
Find me over on Instagram (@camilledipaola) & say hey! I share more of our life, home, style & wild kid stuff over there, so it’s fun…and messy.
