A Fun Idea for Going Out: Monochromatic Makeup

Sequins and sparkles are everywhere this year.  I’ve never seen so many glitter boots, sequin leggings and sparkly dresses.  I’m in heaven. But not everyone shares my affinity for all things SPARKLY (said with jazz hands). And even though you can choose to wear sequins and sparkles from head to toe this New Year’s Eve (I mean if there’s ever a time to overindulge in bling it’s this holiday), I know most people probably won’t.  So, if you’re looking for a fresh idea for makeup that won’t compete with your sequin dress, try the monochromatic trend.

The idea is simple: choose a shade and use it on your eyes, lips and cheeks.  I did a more dramatic red option using Urban Decay’s Gash shade on my eyes and lips below:

  1. I love both looks! And would appreciate another tutorial video! I’ve seen the ones where you put the color on the outside of your eyelids and blend in, but this looks different with color over your entire eyelid. I need training wheels y’all!
