Weekend 12.1

Happy December!! My sister, her husband and baby G have been visiting since Thanksgiving – and it’s been glorious.  Of course we’ve been working a ton, too, but there’s something so freaking fun about sharing what your daily life looks like with far-away family.  It just feels good.  And that’s a pretty promising way to kick off December.

First of all, the big news:

WE DID IT.

Readers, in less than two weeks, you donated $25K to Cannonball Kids’ cancer Foundation, which means that together, we just raised $50K to fund innovative pediatric cancer research.  And you did this during a time of crazy shopping and sales, a time when it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life.  I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude.  So thank you.  Thank from the bottom of our hearts.  Thank you not only for your donations, but for forwarding on our emails to your family and friends, and asking them to donate as well.  Melissa and I are blown away.  You guys are amazing.

The 2017 STEM Guide is coming…

…tomorrow.  As in Saturday, December 2nd.  GET EXCITED.

Hey Newsletter Subscribers!

We’re kicking off 12 Days of Gift Giving – newsletter only!  Each day we’ll be featuring six perfect gifts in one of the below categories.  Technically speaking we should’ve started yesterday, but a day late is more, um, authentic. Haha. (Not a subscriber?  You can join the fun here.)

Of All the Stuff I Bought On Black Friday…..

This LOFT Puffer coat is still my fav.  You can see it in action in the pic at the top of this post (wearing a size xxs).  Last I checked, the puffer was still on sale for $60.  My favorite is the red, but that blue is insanely gorgeous, and my friend just bought the yellow.  The colors are all pretty stunning.  It’s such a fun way to jazz up my usual workout leggings and sneakers during the week, but cool enough for beers at Frankford Hall, too.

Still on saleThis Fleur du Mal velvet slip dress is still more than 50% off….I have the black silk one (XS) and it’s slip dress perfection.  So good, in fact, that I’m seriously considering the navy velvet.

And the best faux-leather leggings are……Spanx.  The regular faux-leather leggings win for both comfort and style and having a flattering…um….crotch area.  Scotti and I did a video on how to style these for holiday parties – coming out soon – but beware the moto version.  I couldn’t even get it up over my legs.

Ah, wool.  After my article on styling sweater dresses for a party…someone asked for a more affordable sweater dress recommendation.  This one is perfect and on crazy sale at Abercrombie.

Hey Philly – Santa is back at Frankford Hall this weekend…see you there?

  1. Okay- I love the idea of the gift giving guide you will be doing- and that you are spending time with your sister too. But, can we just do a HUGE happy dance for raising $50,000 for pediatric cancer research??? That is the BEST news. I mean, seriously, what better gift for the holiday season? TME ROCKS!!! As someone who works with medically involved children and their families, I say thank you!
