10 Nursing-Friendly Summer Dresses

2

Over the years of working at TME (omg, I think it’s been almost seven years at this point??), I’ve learned a lot from our team on what’s worked for them during pregnancy and after. There’s some serious requirements for the ultimate comfort and ease. Emphasis on ease.

So, this time around I decided to round up some pretty summer dresses that get the nursing-friendly stamp of approval. The requirements: dresses with some sort of tie or buttons that can easily come undone for nursing. I mostly stuck with breathable fabrics and styles, without any fussy bits. And if you’re not nursing right now, these dresses are just plain old pretty.

The 10 Cutest (And Nursing-Friendly!) Summer Dresses

Anyone else been a bit dress-obsessed? I don’t know if the styles have gotten better, or if I’m just in my dress-era but I’m loving them right now. These ten nursing-friendly dresses are no exception. I want ‘em all.

1. Maeve Collared Poplin Swing Mini Dress

At Anthropologie

How stinkin’ cute is this dress? Normally, I wouldn’t gravitate towards a style like this, but something about the exaggerated collar, the gorgeous buttons and shape of the dress got me. It’s currently available in plus and petite sizes.

2. Free People Just Jill Sleeveless Maxi Dress

At Nordstrom

A dress with pockets? It’s what we want and deserve. Nothing like being able to quickly pop your phone in your pocket because beeb is two seconds away from chomping on something they can’t have. This dress is 100% cotton and also comes in a ‘black pearl’ color that feels a little more edgy. I love.

3. A&F Tie-Front Textured Maxi Dress

At Abercrombie

I am a huge fan of yellow (it’s my fave color), so I was immediately drawn to this dress. I love that the material has texture and the slightly puffy sleeves. The tie on the front comes undone for nursing access, too. This dress also comes in petite, regular and tall sizes. (And, don’t miss out on those other colors, ‘french blue’ is speaking to me).

4. J.Crew Claudia Linen Dress

At J.Crew

S tried this dress on and I immediately loved. It feels fresh but vintage at the same time. Ya know?? It also comes in tall sizes and goes up to 3x. And if the red is too much for your personal taste, there’s some neutrals too.

5. Free People Soundwave Maxi Dress

At Free People

I have had my eyes on all the denim dresses. This might be my fave one so far since most denim dresses are a little more snug, and this one has all the flowyness. It’s 100% cotton and has buttons you can undo for nursing.

6. Reformation Annabella Lace Trim Linen Minidress

100% linen dresses are a no-brainer in the summer, so if I were to wear a tighter dress, it would have to be a lightweight material like linen. This one is just precious, but not too precious. Love the little lace detail.

7. Petal and Pup Elias Mini Dress

At Target

Aghhhh, this dress is selling like hot cakes, but Petal and Pup have a ton of cute options. I couldn’t resist this cutesy print and flowy shape. Again, buttons!

8. Reformation Pavia Knit Dress

At Reformation

Okay, this one is Shana’s pick and hello?? How pretty? Simple, sleek and has a stretchy jersey fabric. S actually just did a whole Reformation try-on, and this was one of ’em.

9. Free People Dream Weaver Maxi Sundress

I’ve been staring at this dress for a bit now, and truthfully just need to take the plunge and buy. I love all the colors and that they’re stripes but not like STRIPES!!! The colors all kinda blend together perfectly. Does that make sense?? 100% cotton, adjustable straps and has ties you can undo in the front, too.

10. Gap Denim Mini Dress

This is another denim dress I’ve been eyeing. I could so see this going into the fall with a thin turtleneck, tights and tall boots. And…you know it — more buttons!

Congrats on your beeb!! Hope these nursing-friendly dresses make it a little easier.
