Update Your Boyfriend Jeans With A Pretty Top (Under $100)

I’ve been experimenting with all kinds of newness lately:  high-rise jeans are the norm, white ankle boots are shaking things up, and I find myself wanting to don a 70’s-inspired midi dress.  More on that one later.

But then, Sunday hits, and I find myself reaching for my trusty standby:  boyfriend jeans.

But I’ve been down this road so many times before….it’s time to shake things up.  And there’s nothing I like more than taking a fresh spin on an old favorite.  So.  My new fav way to wear boyfriend jeans?  With a pretty little blouse and sock boots.  I love this look for everyday, so I keep the sock boot heel fairly walkable, and the pretty little blouse under $100, machine washable, and….uncomplicated (aka no special bra required).

These small, subtle changes keep the look current…..and besides, shopping for a pretty little top is no hardship, ya know?

I also paired this whole thing with Madewell’s oversized denim jacket, and the double denim is working pretty well.   Of course, I didn’t get a great pic of it in action, but ah, well.  We were just excited to hit the PHS Pop-Up before it closed for the season.  (I think the last weekend is Halloween weekend, for you Philly locals….)

  1. Ok did you distress these Dre jeans? I have several pair and none have the holes in the knees. But I’m willing to learn how!

  2. I just can’t on the double denim. I look back at pics of my young self in the late 80s and early 90s and it just doesn’t look good. I have a feeling we’ll all be looking back on this go round and have the same thoughts in a few years!
