Oh, HEY belts layered over cardigans. I see you.
Did any of you ever sport the look way back? It was definitely my thing. A skinny, little belt with a dainty, little cardigan. I may have even worn pearls. eeee. Ya know, what can I say? I was the ultimate prepster back in high school. I was even *gasp* a collar popper, as much as I hate to admit that now…it is what it is. Can’t deny our style history when there’s photographic proof.
Now the combo is a more updated version, with a thicker belt (one that can be wrapped a bit and maybe even knotted in a fun & funky way). Also, the proper button-up sweater has been ditched for a chunkier, longer one. It’s got that boho vibe…and I’ve really been digging it. If I’m having a basic day in jeans, a tee and one of my cozy cardigans, I just throw a belt over it all and it elevates my everyday outfit. Can’t hate that!
I feel like I am re-visiting my past a bit, but yeh…no more collar pop-age. Please, God, no. Never again.
sweater: Futurino Longline Cardigan (weathered grey) – warm and cozy…great basic, long cardigan to have. I don’t love the “one size” thing, but it works for the price.
belt: star studded belt, no longer available – this Rebecca Minkoff Studded Belt is very similar. I love this tie knot belt and this western skinny belt! Both of them would look great layered over a cardigan.
jeans: 7 For all Mankind Josefina Jean – really comfortable. They were a bit short on me (would have liked a bit more for cuffing), but I am 5’10…so keep that in mind. TTS.
booties: Dolce Vita Lanie Bootie (anthracite suede) – fantastic boot…great color and they’re comfortable! TTS.
bag: Fossil Emma Cross body – a great grab-n-go bag. It comes in several different color, too.
shades: zeroUV round sunglasses – a fun, cheap pair of shades.
Find me over on Instagram (@camilledipaola) & say hey! I share more of our life, home, outfits & kid stuff over there, so it’s fun…and messy.
