It’s the final weekend for the Olympics. I always get a little sad – four years seems like a long time to wait for the next one. So this weekend, we’re planning to curl up and usher out February with some Olympian-worthy binge watching. Skiing half-pipe, I’m looking at you.
Watch out, Lululemon. I always get a ton of compliments on my mesh cut-out Lululemon leggings. The only thing I don’t like is that the mesh panels stop a little abruptly on the sides. Amazon’s in-house brand Core IO just launched a pair that’s pretty darn perfect (and the happily carry plus-sizes too). So there.
Found: The best-ever primer with SPF. Supergoop sent me their new “unseen sunscreen” a few months ago, and I’ve been addicted ever since. It has a full spectrum SPF 40, goes on completely clear and…happens to be the best makeup primer I’ve tried in a loooong time. (To get free shipping, throw in their new sunless tanner and let me know what you think. I’m dying to try it before our Spring Break trip.)
Wear it as a jacket. Gwen mentioned on the TME IG (@themomedit) that Equipment is having a huge sale. I love all of her picks (and literally swooned when I saw this entire outfit)….but I’d like to add this robe to her list. I have a similar piece from Maje, and it’s one of my all-time favorite jackets. Looks equally amazing over an LBD as it does over jeans. (Or jeans shorts, if you dare.)
But S, it’s RUFFLED. I know you guys, I know. But I can’t stop thinking about this $45 tshirt. It’s almost over-the-top, looks way more expensive than it is (I have a similar one by Sea), and is just…..intriguing.
I have new favorite jeans. If you read my latest post you know this already, but…..AG’s Farrah skinnies (in Sea Sprite yasss) are my new favorite jeans. They’re exactly like my trusty AG legging jeans, but with an updated, higher rise. I. Am. Obsessed. You can see them in action on my IG (@shanachristine).
Why we care about the newsletter. Gang, the TME daily newsletter has been so much fun. Not only is it an easy way to stay current with our posts, but we’ve been including some newsletter-only content. For example? March will include a roundup of our favorite rainboots and umbrellas, fun bags for Spring, and jeans, to name a few. We view the newsletter as the only form of communication we have a little bit of control over (unlike Facebook and their ever-changing algorithm – who knows if you see our new posts), so we’ve been spending some time making the newsletter as useful as possible. Suggestions always welcome! (For example….would you like to see sale alerts at the bottom of the newsletter? Tell us!) ANYWAY, this is a big long way of saying that we’d love for you guys to subscribe. So much so….that we’re going to start sending a surprise $200 gift card to one of our newsletter subscribers…every month, starting in March. Because we appreciate that despite your busy, busy days, you choose to spend a little time with us. So thank you. (And subscribe here, if you haven’t already.)
The Reckoning. If you haven’t yet seen Florida shooting survivor Emma Gonzalez’s speech at a gun control rally a few days ago, it’s one of the most important things I’ve watched in a long time. For the first time in years, I’m feeling something like hope. Change is coming, and it’s being led by our children. If there’s one group I’ll bet the NRA never thought they’d be up against….it’s this one.
Policy and Change. School walk-outs are being planned across the country – below is the full schedule. Already a few principals are making noise about suspending students who participate….fine. I say take that suspension as a badge of honor. (Gosh, I’d love to know how my Dad would’ve handled all of this.)
- MARCH 14 – #ENOUGH School Walkout at 10AM for 17 minutes (one minute for each child who was killed in the Florida shooting). This nation-wide walkout is being organized by the organizers of the Women’s March. See info here.
- MARCH 24 – A gun-control rally, #MarchForOurLives, is expecting up to 500,00 people in Washington, DC. Like the Women’s March, this one may end up having local marches participating, too. Stay tuned.
- APRIL 20 – Started by a change.org petition, #NATIONALSCHOOLWALKOUT is a nationwide school walkout starting at 10AM. More info here.
