Stay Dry in These Pretty, Lightweight Rain Jackets

Public Service Announcement: It’s still spring, even if only for a few more weeks, so don’t let the rising temps fool ya! And, in my neck of the woods, when summer does officially roll around, it just means the constant rain turns into intense pop-up storms. According to the forecast, there’s a 98.37% chance you’ll be out and about in said storms. I hate to be a Debbie Downpour about it, but there’s good news for surviving the rain in style: I’ve decided to stop fighting with Mother Nature and start styling on her instead. Lucky for you, that means I’m rounding up the cutest lightweight rain jackets so no precipitation formed against you prospers.

Outfit Details

Floral rain jacket – Amazon (Prime) – I love a good waist cinch on a jacket. Giving it that little bit of shame makes me feel less blob-ish. The floral print definitely brightens up a cloudy day. Wearing size medium.

Linen-blend baseball tee – Abercrombie & Fitch – As you can imagine, this is super-comfortable. I’m wearing a large, which is good for a boyfriend fit. I think I want a medium, too, to wear with tailored/slimmer looks.

Levi’s Mile High Ankle Super Skinny Jeans (size 10/30 -TTS-  in “Take A Break” wash)  – A super high waist and raw hem has seriously upped my cool-mom factor.

Vans  – You can’t ever have enough casual sneakers and these are my new faves. I’m eyeing this solid pair of Vans, too!

Kate Spade Cat Eye Sunglasses (similar) – These are a few years old, but I’m pretty sure they’re the Jazzlyn style. It looks like Amazon is the only retailer that has black in stock, but the Genice and Nastasi are pretty close, too.

Crossbody bag – Gap – Sometimes I gotta give my backpack a break. This sweet little bag is the perfect size for my essentials.
Earrings and bangle (Red Giraffe Designs); Necklace  – Etsy- I never imagined I’d have so much jewelry from Etsy, but this is officially my daily jewelry edit and I love it.

Stay Dry, Look Cute

I mean, if it weren’t for my hair, these jackets would have me actually looking forward to a little rain! I honestly kind of dread it because the power outages in my neighborhood are insane. The one last week was right in the middle of bedtime, but the kids loved reading books with flashlights, so I guess it was still a win. Naturally, I snapped a few pics and vids instead of saving my battery. You can follow me on Instagram @beingtiarra to catch more shenanigans like that. While you’re there, tag me if you buy a jacket; I’d love to see how you style it. And, don’t forget to follow me on, too, so you can instantly shop all my outfits. Clearly, I want to stay in touch, so c’mon, let’s make it social official.

Thanks, babe. I never realized I was missing a camo rain jacket, LOL! And yes, the baseball tee is a steal and perfectly lightweight for cool summer evenings.

  2. Yes, I love my light weight rain jacket (got it in a moody floral from Thread and Supply). Everyone needs one in the south because most summers it rains everyday. “so no precipitation formed against you prospers” Made me actually laugh out loud!

See, you get it, Laura! I always have an umbrella in my car, but I’m like, it’s not like I have a free hand EVER. Lightweight rain jacket to the rescue!
