Easy Holiday Makeup Looks

The holidays are a fun excuse to dress up and play with the latest makeup looks. This year I’m all about easy (babies will do that to you), but that doesn’t mean I’m willing to forgo the fun makeup altogether. I’ve come up with two quick and easy ways to upgrade your daily routine for a festive holiday look. Focus on your eyes with metallic shadows or on your lips with a bold color.

All products used to create my looks below will be available during the Sephora Holiday Bonus Beauty Insider Event:

Look One: Metallic Eyes

Metallic eyes are a big trend this year and the perfect choice for a holiday party. A little more grown-up than glitter and a lot more fun than mattes, this look is an easy way to look festive. It’s as simple as choosing a shadow in a metallic color (or colors) you like, and blending. (Use a primer first for easier application and longer wearing shadow.) Like I say to Shana, “when in doubt, blend!”Holidays are a fun excuse to play with the latest makeup looks. Anastasia’s Sultry Eyeshadow Palette is a new favorite of mine. The colors have a ton of pigment in them and blend easily — even the metallic shades — which makes it the perfect product to use for this look. There are seven gorgeous metallic shades to choose from that look beautiful on their own or when layered together. The palette comes with a dual-ended brush for easy application and blending.Holidays are a fun excuse to play with the latest makeup looks. On Face

Urban Decay Naked Foundation: A lightweight foundation that can be layered for more coverage and my go-to for brides.

Benefit Lollitint Cheek & Lip Stain: A pretty orchid-pink stain that actually works for both cheeks and lips. A little goes a long way! (I like layering lip balm over the stain when my lips are dry.)

On Eyes

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sultry Palette: I blended cinder, teak and ember on lids and used dystopian as liner.

Better than Sex Mascara: This stuff creates big bold lashes . . . layer for more intensity.

Look Two: Bold Lips

A bold lip is a classic look that brightens up your whole face. It’s the quickest and easiest way to get a festive look. Keep the eye makeup simple and don’t skip the blush — it helps to balance out the look. The best thing about a statement look is that you can choose the color. Whether you want a dark and vampy look, a vibrant red or a bright pink, this look is all about showcasing your lips with whatever eye-catching color looks best on you.

On Face

Urban Decay Naked Foundation: A lightweight foundation that can be layered for more coverage and my go-to for brides.

Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush: This blush is easy to blend, long-lasting and comes in a bunch of gorgeous colors.

On Eyes

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer: Use this under shadow for smoother application and longer wear.

Anastasia Brow Wiz: The absolute quickest and easiest way to fill in sparse brows.

Anastasia Highlighter Pencil: Like a brow lift in a pencil.  Use the matte or shimmer side to lift your brows.

Better than Sex Mascara: This stuff creates big bold lashes . . . layer for more intensity.

On Lips

Sephora #Lipstories Lipstick in A Little Magic: All of the lipsticks I’m wearing came from Sephora’s Midnight Kisses #Lipstories Set. I’ve never had a set where I’ve actually liked each and every color. I was so impressed I thought I’d swatch them all for you guys. (I didn’t use any liner or primer so the color remained as true as possible for each lipstick.)
