It’s no secret to this team (and maybe you guys, too), that I am a fall/winter girl through and through, and basically could do with no summer all-together. I probably annoyingly repeat myself too often about it…if I’m totally transparent. (Sorry, team). One of the reasons I always get excited? Cute early fall outfits, and sifting through a Saks Fifth Ave sale. It’s fillllled with dreamy inspo every single year. While this post was totally not intended for that summer to fall transitional period at first, I couldn’t help it after seeing what was in the sale this year. I’m yearning for fall. Clearly.
So, with that said…I give you five cute outfits for summer into fall inspo all from Saks’ current promotion: get 20% off $250+ purchase using the code: TAKEJULSF.
Saks Fifth Ave Sale: 5 Transitional Outfits For Summer To Fall
Since fall tends to lean pretty warm nowadays, I didn’t go too heavy with the layers or jackets, but rather…I gave a nod to fall. I’m trying to be realistic here, but in my dream world this entire post would be filled with jackets and boots and heavy-duty sweaters, heh. I guess I’ll save that for once it actually starts to cool down. For now, here’s some inspiration for that complicated is-it-autumn-or-august period.
Outfit 1: Pick Your Boat Neck Top
I love a good top with a higher neckline (boat neck, if you will) because something about it just feels so chic even if it’s a more casual fabric like denim or a t-shirt material. I think you can totally dress them up with something fancier, but I love the way they look with those white denim shorts with contrast stitching. Such an easy way to dress up denim shorts. And then those sleek mules? Love.
Outfit 2: Pick Your Fall Dress
I fully plan to bring my dresses into the fall, and wearing them with all the boots. I have a gingham one that looks super similar to that Peixoto one below that I wear non-stop, so that dress felt like a no-brainer. But then the other dress??? I just thought the rich colors were stunning, and it could be a good work dress option that’s far-from-boring.
Outfit 3: Pick Your Button-Up Top
Both of these white button-ups are not your average white button-ups. They’re sooo much more interesting with the boxy shape and little details. And, that skirt?! I feel like this would be such a good end-of-summer work outfit. The tailoring is just *chefs kiss*. Just add closed-toe shoes (ballet flats, kitten heels or little pointed-toe boots) if sandals aren’t your work-wear vibe.
Outfit 4: Pick Your Graphic Tee
I think I’ll always be a sucker for graphic tees whether they’re on-trend or not. The style of graphic tees that I like do change over time, though, and right now I’m loving these fun graphics. S got me into those dramatic Re/Done tees that’s she’s had for awhile (and loves). The GANNI tees always get me, too. And btw — take a look at those jeans on the model. They’re more straight-leg than baggy, and that color is just so good for fall.
Outfit 5: Pick Your Boxer Shorts
I mean…I think we all know that the real star of the show (and the first thing I picked out) was this fish sweater. I’m basically in love. Any type of lightweight shorts to keep some cooling going on would work, but I can’t deny that I love how fun the boxer shorts are. And, a moment for those sandals. LOVE. Probably the most summery of the bunch, but I’d wear that fish sweater all year long, let’s be real.
Can I say happy almost fall, yet?
