If you haven’t yet heard of Avara – an online shop filled with some seriously FUN pieces – you’re in for a treat! Founded in 2018 by Emily Wickard (mom of two), who, after 20 years in Finance and tired of the corporate grind, decided to take a chance and create a clothing brand she’d actually want to shop herself.
Avara’s price points are great, and the designs are exactly the kind of things you’d want to find when looking for something that makes you go, “cuuuuuuuuute.” In other words:
Hiiiiii holiday outfits.

Avara literally carries everything: clothes, accessories, shoes (and I imagine her brick-and-mortar store is the kind of place you can walk into and then emerge 100% ready for whatever event you’re shopping for).
6 Cute Holiday Outfits From Avara
The range of Avara’s Holiday Collection is impressive. Dresses perfect for hosting? Got ’em. Little velvet shorts? Check. Fun sweaters to dress up jeans? Absolutely. And a ton of fun little bags and earrings (at prices that make it easy to get excited).
Here are some of my personal favorites:
1. The Dress That Makes Me Feel Like I’m Starring In White Christmas

The big question: in White Christmas, which sister are you? Despite the fact that I’m the older sister I cannot sing at all, so Rosemary Clooney’s character is totally out. (Besides, the va-va-voom dressing is more Scotti, anyway.) But the quirky younger sister? I dream at night about being able to tap dance like Vera-Ellen. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone as impressive. Like…if I had ONE WISH, it might be that.
And for my White Christmas debut, this is the dress I’d wear. I mean…those SLEEVES right? And check out the back:

2. Bow Sweater + Cuffed Jeans + Bright Clutch

I ended up loving this outfit SO MUCH. The bows give this sweater a bit of a quirky vibe, but in neutral tones it reads both chic and playful. If you like this general idea, Avara has a ton of bow sweaters for the holidays (I also really like this one).
Don’t miss the jeans, either! Soft, stretchy, and hold you in nicely. They’re a 31″ inseam, which means that I can only wear them with the highest heels (I’m 5’3″ for reference). Love the cuffs.

3. Party Sweater + Velvet Shorts
sweater (m) | shorts (s) | tights | bag
This sweater does run TTS, but I sized up one size in order to get a slouchy fit. When pairing with little shorts (and I knew it would be perfect with little velvet shorts), the outfit works better with a big-little proportion play. Tight-on-tight isn’t nearly as interesting.
Anyway, this sweater is FUN.

These little velvet shorts have an almost 1950’s shape – cinched-in waist, curvy over the hips. They’re great.
4. Same Shorts, All Black

To double down on that 50’s vibe, this vintage-inspired cardigan is so cute. It has a nubby texture, fancy buttons, and fits TTS.

5. The Dress I’d Wear Hosting

There’s something almost…70’s fabulous about this dress. It’s the kind of bright, easy piece I’d wear hosting something at my house: just special enough to wow, but really comfortable, too.

6. Unexpected Plaid + Black
sweater (s) | jeans (27| bag | shoes
There’s so many red plaids for the holidays, that this one feels a little unexpected and fresh. It’s super soft and fuzzy, and fits TTS.
I’ll forever love plaids with black jeans + super sparkly earrings.
