If there’s something I love more than beach season, it’s prepping for beach season. There’s just such an excited energy of anticipation for longer & warmer days, saltwater, family trips, sun-kissed skin and alllll the swimsuits. I’m currently taking Saks’ Designer Sale as an excuse to dream-up a few outfits I want to wear to the beach this summer (something that I’ve actually been too-passionately doing since January haha)…

On Sale At Saks: Easy & Cute Outfits For The Beach
When it comes to getting dressed for the beach, I always find myself doing a few things:
1. Mixing prints. Because swimsuits come in so many fun prints & patterns, I find it a bit inevitable anyway (unless you’re a black-swimsuits-only kinda gal).
2. Sliding on a sandal that can be worn out after, even if it’s just for a quick drink or bike ride home. (And yes, flip flops of course work.)
3. Wanting my top layers to be actual clothes, not just a coverup or specific to beachwear. For versatility, I go for either a dress or matching set every time.
4. Finding a really pretty bag that can double as a non-beach one for the same reasons^. FWIW, I don’t have kids and thus am not toting around sandcastle pails & shovels just yet – but I made sure a bunch of the bags below have room for them!
5. Throwing on a piece or two of simple jewelry for something a little extra.
BTW, I’d suggest filtering the sale pages to specific brands if you get overwhelmed and/or already know your favorites (my secret hack). My go-to’s for this sale = Staud (for bags & dresses), Farm Rio (for the prettiest prints), Sandro (for splurge-worthy pieces), Rails (for everyday-wear), Sam Edelman (for affordable footwear), Zimmermann (for the most beautiful swimwear), Naghedi (for beach bags) and 22élevé (for elegant summer shoes).
Beach Outfit 1: Bold Blooms
In my opinion, mixing prints is one of the coolest things you can pull off in an outfit. If you get the mix right (which is easier than you think), it ends up looking genius. In this look, I mixed two florals with *similar* colors and size, but just different enough that it doesn’t look too matchy-matchy. Loveitsomuch.

Beach Outfit 2: Nauti, Coastal Blues
A print that easily mixes with, uh, mostly every other one is good old stripes. No wonder I have such a love affair with them. I love the shapes of this polo top + matching shorts (that look so darn comfortable) with a beautifully printed bikini under. Oh, and the bag & shoe textures are just great.

Beach Outfit 3: A Touch of Tropic
If you love a romper like I do.. HOW CUTE is this one?? The palm print would go well with sooo many swimsuit styles & prints. Such an easy one-and-done outfit.

Beach Outfit 4: Playful & Boho-Beachy
The fact that a matching set can be worn in SO many ways (in summer specifically) makes it really worth the cost for me. Let’s take this one, for example. Besides the obvious matching set moment, the top can be worn with: linen pants, denim cutoffs, terry shorts, trouser shorts, any wash of jeans + more. The skirt: with a swimsuit, a little white tank, graphic tee, a sweater on cooler nights, a bodysuit, a structured linen shell + more. The list goes on.

Beach Outfit 5: Cannes Is Calling
Ok, I do understand that the ruffly straps on the bikini top miiiight not work seamlessly with those skinny dress straps, but I don’t think I care? Honestly, they’re both in such pretty, complimentary patterns that I’m kind of dying to see what it looks like. Both pieces are so gorgeous alone that I think the combo will be a bit mind-blowing haha. (Drama.)

Beach Outfit 6: Boardwalk Chic
This is the set I want to wear to the Jersey Shore alllll summa-long. Versatile, breezy and just the right amount of put-together if we’re heading for a post-dip lunch. That straw bag & gold necklace dress it up perfectly. Love that the sleeves are long for sun coverage & a little warmth if it’s windy.

A huge thank you to Saks for sponsoring this post! I had WAY too much fun putting together like 20+ outfits for the summer haha. Narrowing down is always the hardest part during your designer sales. Such great stuff, always!!!
