Lavender and other purples are lighting up this winter, and I love it! Like silver, it’s like a breath of fresh air among the usual black, navy, and grey hues. Recently, I embarked on an exciting Style Revamp journey with a client, placing color as the foundational element in our process. Together, we curated a capsule wardrobe that celebrated her essence, embracing her best hues. Among these, lavender emerged as a standout shade, with a stunning piece—a Lavender sweater from the luxury cashmere brand, Ravella—taking center stage.

So, with this stunning color in mind, I decided to craft a post with outfit ideas and color combinations for a lavender cashmere sweater.

7 Outfit Ideas for a Lavender Cashmere Sweater

Lavender showcases a variety of tones, spanning from brighter to softer and darker versions. Primarily a cool tone, it best complements neutral-cool or completely cool undertones. Those with neutral-warm complexions might prefer shades closer to lilac, a warmer relative. Additionally, finding the right saturation is crucial—some may need softer hues, while others effortlessly carry off brighter shades.

NOTE: Ravella stands out for its colorful range, going beyond typical neutrals. Their shades are vibrant yet not overly bright or muted, making them easy to style with other colors. All the sweaters below come in a beautiful array of colors.

Let’s get into it!

Outfit Idea 1: All the Taupe Tones

I adore taupe as the ideal neutral to infuse warmth into cool-colored ensembles without overwhelming them. Unlike tan or warmer browns, which suit warmer violets better, taupe harmonizes wonderfully with lavender.

Accessorize with silver earrings and a belt to elevate the look and keep the lavender alive when covered by the coat with a lavender hat and mittens. Did you see the convertible earrings? 2 in 1 are my favorite.

Outfit Idea 2: With Greys and a Touch of Black

Pairing lighter colors with black can create a stark contrast. As shown below, you can soften the effect by opting for charcoal grey instead. Then you can add splashes of black in the way of accessories.

To finish off the look and keep the lavender vibe alive, play with the color of your scarf, ensuring that the pop of lavender persists even when covering the sweater.

Outfit Idea 3: Matching Lavender Puffer and Light-blue Jeans

I love the mix of lavender and light blue jeans. It’s one of those combos that always works and gives a fresh look.

The Halfdays packable puffer is stunning in person despite the retail picture showing a brighter hue. The color is soft and incredibly easy to wear. To complete the ensemble, opt for grey and silver accessories to achieve a casual-chic look.

Outfit Idea 4: Leather Pants and a Pop of Bright Purple

Deeper and richer lavender purple shades can better fit some complexions than the lighter lavender tones. I love this particular shade! To elevate the cozy casualness of the sweater, I’ve paired it with faux-leather pants, complemented by shoes and a tailored coat, for a chic touch.

Once again, the scarf ensures the color stays alive, even when layered with the grey jacket.

Outfit Idea 5: Own the Night with Silver

I’m thrilled about the return of silver as an effortless neutral—it’s the perfect partner for cooler-toned shades. Just see how stunningly it complements lavender, deeper purples, and even accentuates grey.

The silk camisole is also by Ravella. Although I spotted one from Intimissimi, the reviews weren’t quite reassuring about its quality. From now on, Ravella has secured a spot in my book as a go-to brand for quality cashmere and silk investments.

Outfit Idea 6: Green + Purple = Casual Perfection

Green and purple, opposites on the color wheel, create an undeniably perfect combo. This stunning Lululemon green puffer jacket and these perfectly matched Adidas sneakers complement the purple shade and serve as versatile pieces for pairing with various colors throughout the winter.

Outfit Idea 7: Bundled Up in Darker Hues

Lululemon also carries a long puffer coat in the same gorgeous green shade. Throw it over the charcoal and lavender outfit for an effortless, eye-catching look.

To create a winning combination, pair lavender with cool-toned neutrals like shades of grey, navy, denim blue, and cool-toned browns such as taupe. If you’re up for a more playful yet harmonious ensemble, consider adding a touch of green for that perfect harmony. It just works!

And there you have it! I could have gone on and on, but I hope these ideas spark inspiration for adding this stunning shade to your winter wardrobe.
