Our Low-Bar Looks: 7 Casual Outfits We’re Wearing This Weekend

2

It’s. A lot right now, friends. February is typically hard enough to get dressed during but this year? Well. The bar is low and we’re comfortable with that around here. We’re all about practical shares here at The Mom Edit and while that doesn’t necessarily sound exciting I think it is quite helpful during times like these. How are we getting dressed right now?

What We’re Wearing in February, Realistically.

This all started during a team call recently when Scotti mentioned she’s mostly in her robe (not pictured lol but I think she did offer.) The rest of us were like yeah, our outfits are currently consisting of stretchy, cozy and comfortable pieces only. You can see where our heads are at and if you too are putting the minimal effort into getting dressed right now, we get it. So are we. I will admit some of these low bar outfits from our team members though? Still incredibly cute and I’d wear all of them out to the grocery store (pretty much the only place I have the energy currently to get to.)

1 | Shana’s Low Bar February Outfit: Baggy Jeans + Moonboots + Cute Accessories

Baggy floral jeans styled with a long-sleeve tee, moon boots, a beanie, and a statement bag in a casual winter outfit

tee (s) | jeans (29p – size up) – more sizes at Nordstrom | moonboots | hat | bag

My low bar outfit this winter has been baggy jeans, Moonboots, and boyish long-sleeve tees (often stolen from my husband or kids). If it’s cold, I’ll slide Athleta’s fleece-lined leggings or Uniqlo’s heattech pants under the jeans. And then make the whole thing look intentional with a cute beanie and this fun bag. All baggy jeans work here, but these floral ones were a recent birthday add and they’re great.

2 | Jess’ Low Bar February Outfit: Bright Puffer + Baggy Jeans + Timberland Boots

Casual February outfit with jeans, a cozy sweater, bright red puffer jacket, knit hat, and boots in snowy weather

Hat | Sweater (M) | Similar Jacket (S) | Jeans (27) | Boots (7.5)

Well, the weather has finally warmed up this week…to all of 13 degrees and the snow outside is officially piled higher than our mailbox. And I have a doctor’s appointment that requires the bare minimum from me: real pants (i.e. not sweats or snow gear). Does anyone else just hold their breath the entire time they are driving in this weather?? This time next week I will hopefully be sippin’ margaritas in Mexico (if my flight isn’t cancelled).

3 | Kat’s Low Bar February Outfit: Cuffed Jeans + Moonboots

Relaxed winter plus size outfit with straight-leg jeans, an oversized cardigan, and boots styled for cold weather

Cardigan (xl) | jeans (20) | boots (more at nordstrom)

We are on the tailend of a full blown snow-pocalypse here in Nashville and it has been SO freaking cold. So cold that I’m only wearing long sleeve tops with my moon boots. I will say these new jeans I just got in from Anthro at least make me feel a little more like the cool girl that I am. Stay warm y’all XX – Kat

4 | Amy’s Low Bar February Outfit: Cute Fleece + Sweatpants + Hiking Sneakers

Elevated casual outfit with gray sweatpants, a fleece jacket, sneakers, sunglasses, and a crossbody bag

sweatpants (M Long) | fleece jacket (M)  more colors here | sneakers | purse | sunnies

Ever since our temps dropped here in the south I’ve been living in fleece…uh, everything. I wear lots of jewelry and do my hair when I’m headed out, or simply pull on socks and a big scrunchie when around the house. These sweatpants are the best sweatpants I’ve ever had (yes, I said that) and the jacket is years’ old, but still going strong (I’ve said it before and it still holds true: FP makes the best fleece jackets).

5 | Laura’s Low Bar February Outfit: Oversized Bomber + Leggings

Leggings styled with an oversized bomber jacket, sneakers, crew socks, and a baseball hat in a casual February outfit

Jacket (M) | Shirt (M) | Leggings (M) | Sneakers | Socks | Hat

The theory is if I put on leggings I’ll do the workout…at some point in the day. But I’m not really a leggings-as-an-outfit person, so I get disappointed when I have to leave the house lol. But this day I kinda dug the combo, even if I unintentionally matched my porch for this pic. Still in my favorite leggings of all time in high rotation over here and this oversized bomber is like my new emotional support jacket. I love it.

6 | Abby’s Low Bar February Outfit: Cropped Puffer + Track Pants

Warm casual winter outfit with a halfdays puffer jacket, knit sweater, adidas track pants, boots, and a beanie for running errands

puffer (m) | sweater (m) | pants (m) | boots | bag | hat

This was my snowstorm city errand ‘fit the other day – so you just KNOW that I was going for low-bar & warm. The pants I linked look exactly like the ones I’m wearing, but they’re satin instead of my velvet ones (which are from a couple years ago & sold out 🙁 sadly). These are similar and probably warmer, too! And guys…Shana was right about this coat. I’ve never had a warmer puffer in my life!!! Super lightweight, too. Not sure how it does it.

7 | Aliya’s Low Bar February Outfit: Bootcut Jeans + UGGs

Ultra-casual winter outfit with an oversized hoodie, stretchy bootcut jeans, and UGG boots for cold February days

Hoodie (no logo) | Jeans | UGGs

Okay this outfit is SO low bar I don’t even want to share it but it’s made of the pieces I’m grabbing often right now. I’ve been crawling out of bed and into this FP Movement hoodie everyday. It’s like a cozy, oversized, perfectly worn, borrowed from the guys type hoodie. For jeans right now it’s only ones that are stretchy like this pair from Good American. And because it’s so cold out, I’m only wearing my UGGs… sorry not sorry 😂

Hugs and solidarity right now and f*ck ice…

xo,

L + Team TME
