I can’t believe I’m already writing about back-to-school, but here we are. I’m gonna have a 7th grader this year and that sounds like honestly someone else’s life. So fast, so fast, friends.
Good thing she loves clothes like I do and loves comfy sporty stuff. When we got the chance to find some adidas for her foray into 7th grade this year we both got excited.
Cute Clothes For Moms & Tweens Alike at adidas for This Fall

I mean, who doesn’t want to have some fresh rad pieces to start the school year with? And thankfully I got to get in on the gig, too.
These pictures… I can’t even, y’all. Why does my gal look like she’s already in high school. IYKYK… it’s amazing and gut wrenching to watch your kids grow. I better start talking about sneakers and cute clothes before I cry.

We live right by the adidas US headquarters here in Portland and I pass these giant Superstar sneakers almost every day. I’ve been wanting to take some photos with them for years when we partner with adidas, but just didn’t get the chance. This time though it was perfect since Olive and I both got matching Superstar sneaks. We had a blast taking these (and I only had to bribe her with $20 bucks to cooperate lol.)
1 | A Stylish Work-From-Home Outfit for Mom in adidas Soft Lux
So, if you haven’t tried adidas Soft Lux fabric you must. They have quite a few different pieces in this lightweight but cozy option and it’s my new favorite. It’s kinda between a scuba fabric and a soft fleece and it’s perfect.
The shorts are amazing and I don’t say that about many shorts. They’re cut wider in the legs than some, which I adore. The top is just one of those SO easy to wear shapes and I’m always down for a quarter zip neckline.

Sizing: True to size on both pieces here for a comfy, slightly oversized vibe.
2 | A Cute Back-to-School Sporty Dress For The Tween
Ok folx, this dress is so good. It’s a track jacket style with a stretch waistband that you can adjust to sit right at your waist. The top then blouses a bit from there. SO cute. And yes, it has pockets.
We discussed that it would be a great piece for school, of course, but also over her dance clothes to and from the studio or even over a swimsuit for the rest of the summer. Freaking cute.

Sizing: Olive is wearing the Youth Large and is typically between a YL and YXL now (she’s 5ft and 12 years old.)

3 | Fresh (Forever Favorites) Sneakers For Both Of Us
Superstars (in Core Black/Ash Blue) | Superstars (in Off White/Gold Metallic)
Superstar sneakers have been some of our favorites for years. Olive has had them in various sizes since she was walking and they are some of the best comfy options for littles…and bigs. They’re substantial but not heavy and the rounded toe holds up so well to loads of wear.
These are sneakers that can take you through all seasons, too. With the leather outer and again, the strong rubber toe, these hold up well in our rainy falls and winters, but are comfy enough to wear spring and summer, too. (And how freaking cute are the gold laces charms on mine?!)
Being a mom to this kiddo is such a privilege. She may test me and push all my buttons but she is a firecracker and a phenomenal human… and I have the pleasure of being court-side for her life. Thanks for pretending like you still like me for these pics, Olive. Love you to the moon…
xo,
L
Thank you so much to adidas for sponsoring this article. We LOVE your styles that are both comfy and sporty but oh so cute and fashionable. And the sneakers? Forgetaboutit. We’re all fans…even the picky tween. Thank you, readers for continuing to support what we do here at The Mom Edit. It doesn’t go unnoticed.
Thank you, Posy Quarterman for the fab photos!

I really admire your style, your vibe, and how you assess all the pieces when you contribute. Your little is terrific too! Keep at it and thank you.
You are so kind. Thank you so much, Laurie.

OK, I LOVE Olive and you—you both slay!! Thank you for this awesome collab!
Gosh, thank you so much. xo
Love that last picture!😂 I can relate, I have 4 teen and tween girls right now and I appreciate getting new ideas for them!
Aww haha. You get it then. xo
Your daughter is a doll! And $20 year seems completely reasonable for her contribution!
Thanks Talia! Lol right?!
