What I’m ACTUALLY Wearing For School Drop Off

This post is sponsored by adidas.

My kiddo is officially back in school and most mornings, my school drop-off outfit is whatever I can pull on in under two minutes (bonus points if it’s put-together enough that I won’t hide from other parents in the parking lot).

If you’re like me and have also been known to show up to school still in your sleep shirt, you’ll understand why I fell hard for adidas’ new Soft Lux line. It’s a gorgeous collection featuring a handful of mix-and-match pieces that are so soft they could be pajamas, but thanks to their modern silhouettes, they actually pass as “I put effort into this.”

That whole under-two-minutes thing? Never been easier.

Adidas Soft Lux Line Works Perfectly for Busy School Mornings

When it comes to back-to-school outfits: Mom Edition, I want something that’s comfortable, quick to throw on, and still stylish enough to wear all day. If I don’t have to change between my pick up and drop off looks, I consider it a big win.

The soft lux material fully took me by surprise. They’re like your go-to favorite basics, but upgraded and more modern. Made from 100% cotton, the pieces are peachy soft, like an unbelievably good kind of soft.

My Go-To School Drop-Off Outfit: adidas Soft Lux Matching Tee & Shorts

The Soft Lux Loose Tee has those wildly-cool elbow length sleeves, a silhouette that has been selling out everywhere.

In fact, before I even found these Soft Lux pieces from adidas, I went on a try-on marathon of every elbow length sleeve tee I could get my hands on, which makes me confident in saying adidas makes one of the BEST options out there. The soft, stretchy cotton makes it the ideal tee to grab for any bottom. It has a loose and oversized fit, meaning you can size down if you want it to fit more true to size. And while the tee is boxy and modern, it isn’t cropped, which I greatly appreciate.

The Soft Lux shorts are honestly just as good.

They can be rolled to your desired length without leaving any fabric lumps, and there’s a drawstring hidden on the inside if you need a more secure fit (but I consider them to be perfectly true to to size). They are substantial, meaning they aren’t anywhere near being sheer, and yet so lightweight I forget I have them on my body.

The Only School Drop Off Layer You Need This Fall: adidas Soft Lux Quarter-Zip Sweatshirt

The Soft Lux Quarter-Zip Sweatshirt is the piece that first made me stop my scroll, and the whole reason I noticed the soft lux line to begin with.

It has the perfect billowing (yet not overwhelming) sleeves and they’re long. Something us taller humans search high and low for. Just like the loose tee, the sweatshirt has a perfectly boxy fit, but I wouldn’t consider it as oversized. In fact, I sized up from my usual large in tops to an XL to get the same look.

And there’s even mesh pieces in this line for the daringly cool, like a zip up hoodie and tee. It’s been so hot here I didn’t even consider the pants, but there are great sweatpants options, too.

To top it all off, they made this Soft Lux line in a handful of gorgeous neutrals (with a pop of my fave blue) that are easily mixed and matched for cute sets that really can be thrown on in minutes.

All Your Favorite adidas Sneakers In Blue

Blue seems to be a color of the moment as we fade into late summer, and I’m not complaining.

I’ve been wearing my SL72’s (one of my favorite styles from adidas – not to mention most comfortable) nonstop, but there are new “night indigo” and “tactile blue” Samba OG Sneakers that are worthy of taking a peek at. I’m also actively avoiding looking at the blue + red combo in this style (my second fave adidas sneaker) – the outfits I could make with that color combo would be ENDLESS.

Here’s to rolling up to the school curb looking pulled together… even if our coffees haven’t kicked in yet.

Amy

Thank you SO much to adidas for sponsoring this post! I have been obsessing over this elbow length tee and all your soft lux pieces and I could yap for ages about how good they are (please tell me it’s a permanent line)!! And to our readers, thank you for your continued support, we love you!

Let’s be friends on Instagram or come hang with me over on TikTok: Sharing life with my husband + kid, daily style & beauty faves, and never-ending Taylor Swift dance-athons…all with a good dose of relatable mom nonsense, too.

  1. This lost me at “pick up and drop off looks,” which is a thing I’ve never considered once in 11+ years of motherhood. I love TME, but this one is a bit far-fetched.

    • Those words were used in the sentence explaining if I don’t have to change, I consider myself doing a good job. Drop off look = my pajamas, cause I’m lazy or running late. Pick up look = anything thats not my pajamas. If I don’t have to change, that means I got my life together *before* drop off and already got out of my pajamas, so I’ll be wearing the same thing for both drop off/pick up. Not so sure what’s far-fetched, unless you’re judging me for being a mom who wears pajamas out of the house. In that case, you’re better than me 😉
