Let’s get the basics out of the way:  where you live, how many kids, etc.: In a small town outside of Boston with my husband and two girls (2 & 6).

Three words to describe your personal style.: Comfortable. Unexpected. Evolving.

Who are your style icons? How do you integrate those tastes into your own wardrobe if at all?: Kate Moss is a good one, I love her effortlessly cool, boho-luxe style. She mixes classic tailored or luxe pieces with casual street style really well and always has interesting accessories.

How has your personal style changed since becoming a mom?: It’s become more practical and casual, mostly because I work from home now and the kids are still small enough that I end up wearing whatever food/art supplies/etc they come into contact with any given day.

What’s your most-worn piece? (If it’s sweatpants…we won’t tell.): My J.Crew Petite Toothpick Jeans – I have them in a few colors, the fit is perfect and they hit at just the right spot on the ankle for wearing with most any shoe. It’s hard to find good petite denim, J.Crew does it well.

Sometimes it’s hard to gauge height from an Instagram or blog post – SO…how tall are you?: 5’5

Your top three beauty products?: Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base – Makes me look alive in a flash and sheer coverage isn’t heavy at all, Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner – Glides on like a dream and sets within a few minutes to a smudge-free, stays-on-til-you-take-it-off finish. A bajillion colors, I’m partial to the dark brown or purple I’m being fancy. Fresh Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15 – I do wish the SPF was higher, but the 10 gorgeous colors and complete lack of sunscreen smell/taste are hard to beat. Mishha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun Milk SPF 50+ – This Korean sunscreen is some next-level magic. It goes on so sheer and dries so fast, I don’t even notice it’s on my skin! Sweat-proof, no strong odor, no white cast and definitely no stinging when I rub my eyes accidentally. Total lifesaver, you guys.

What drew you to blogging and when did you start?: I’d always been an avid blog reader, especially shelter/home blogs, and always thought it looked fun. A few years ago, Shana put out a call for a home/shelter topic writer and took a chance on me. It’s so important to have a creative outlet, and if it helps others in any small way, it’s even better. I’m hooked.

What does a typical day look like? How do you manage time with kids vs blogging (or work)?: Mondays & Fridays it’s just the toddler & me, we’re pretty active on the local library storytime circuit, running errands or playdates. The rest of the week, my eldest goes to elementary school and our nanny cares for my toddler while I work my day job from home. Blogging happens after hubs gets home or on weekends. I constantly feel pulled in a million directions; it’s a lot to juggle and like many moms, I struggle to find balance especially while the kids are so young.

After the craziest, worst days we all find salvation in seeing our kids. What’s your favorite thing to do with them to decompress?: Watch them sleep? Kidding! (Sort of). Bath time is always a fun way to end the day, sometimes both girls will pile into a bubble bath and “be mermaids”. It’s in no way a relaxing winding-down time, but their crazy antics and ensuing giggles are contagious.

If you could give only one piece of advice to a timid, new mom (we’ve been there), what would it be?: Trust your instincts, you know more than you think. Also, don’t forget to pack extra outfits for yourself in case of diaper…incidents.

What did you dream of being when you were young?: A journalist, I think. (that was a long time ago!)

What’s one fashion risk you love to see on others but would NEVER take yourself?: I always love seeing what outfits Alexa Chung comes up with but totally look ridiculous on me.
