OK, a few of you may have seen these comfy, unique shorts pop up on our @themomedit Instagram or on my @laurajansenstyle stories. They’re SO comfy and soft. Because they’re just so good, I wanted to style them up for us to see how versatile they could be.

I was originally looking for a comfy jogger and ran across these shorts, which get great reviews. You know me, I had to try them out. And I’m SO glad I did! This fabric literally feels like the Beyond Yoga space-dyed fabric we all love. It’s crazy-similar, just a bit lighter weight, which is nice for a right-now short. They come in an array of colors and in a few patterns. I was thinking the lighter shades might be a little harder to style, so I stuck with black and the camo (which was a bit debatable) but I like them now, styled up. A few of you have already tried these shorts and posted pics in The Mom Edit Insiders group! I love love when I hear that something that worked for me works for you, too!

An Amazon Fashion Find To Know About: Comfy Shorts For Under $20

I initially called these Amazon shorts ‘weird’ because they were just unlike any pair I’d seen before. Are they lounge shorts? Workout shorts? They’re like if bike shorts and paperbag waist pants had an athleisure baby…? The extra fabric at the hip pockets and the ruching just makes them way more wearable than biker shorts, IMO. And they keep their shape well. (Not that I would know that, because it’s not like I slept in them and then ran errands in them this morning…) OK, so let’s get to styling up these shorts. They are so so comfy, but can they hang in an actual non-loungewear outfit? Let’s see…

1. Amazon Shorts With a Jacket

I think this is my favorite way to style these up that actually has some…style. It’s a bit unexpected with soft athleisure-type shorts, but somehow it works! Here we see my favorite blazer from the Nordstrom Sale for like 2 years now, my favorite utility jacket, and the classic Adidas track jacket. All are staple jackets in my wardrobe. I’m a little surprised I didn’t pull for a denim jacket in this mix!

2. Amazon Shorts With A Cropped Tank or Tee

This first outfit makes me feel like I’m living the Gwen Stefani life I’ve always wanted. I love her. But also, it’s totally doable for hot summer days right now and just bumming around at the park or on a walk or over a swimsuit. Digging it. These shorts have a soft high waist, almost like high-rise leggings, that make this outfit possible. The white twist tee is from the NSale, but sold out. However, I’ve found the best dupe at Amazon! Sized up to a Medium for a little more length. Oh, and I’ve had these Steven sneakers for a while and when I put them on, I’m reminded HOW cushiony they are! 3. Amazon Shorts With A Hoodie or Denim Shirt

These are some of my casual go-to tops, so I thought why not? And it seems like we always need a topper option in the Northwest. Even in summer, I never leave home without a hoodie or jacket. Levi’s hoodies are my absolute favs for a great pullover that softens with washing and fits a little slimmer. They’re so cool. A denim shirt is the best summer topper, lighter than a denim jacket, and just easy, classic, comfy. The J.Crew hoodies and sweatshirts are also some of my favs. They are typically over-dyed and in lovely colors.
