I’m having a little bit of a *pinch me* moment now that I have the honor to chat about Biossance skincare products. If you’re a regular reader of the blog, it’s no secret that we are big fans of the brand. My own personal love affair with Biossance actually started before I was even a part of this team.
It was my mom who first introduced me. She had sent me an Instagram video of Jonathan Van Ness raving about Biossance’s Squalane + Rose Vegan Lip Balm with the text “We have to try this stuff. Ordering it now!” and I immediately began researching the brand.

Biossance 100% Squalane Oil
The lip balm was so good that I decided to try Biossance 100% Squalane Oil. Squalane, which mimics the body’s natural hydrating oils, was a main ingredient I was seeing all over Biossance’s website. Our body makes its own version (called squalene) but because it decreases as we age, it’s not uncommon to find beauty products including squalane traditionally harvested from shark livers.
As you can imagine, that has a devastating environmental impact, so Biossance found a way to source theirs sustainably from sugarcane. I was over the moon to learn about this, and it only made me want to support them more.
The mega moisturizing oil became an instant daily ritual of mine. I was in total awe of how good it felt and reacted to my incredibly dry, blemish-prone skin (not to mention, made my hair look amazing — because, yes, it acts as an amazing hair AND body oil, too).

From there it was a swift domino effect of implementing more Biossance products into every aspect of my routine. It was when I began using their Squalane + Omega Repair Cream as my everyday moisturizer that I noticed my skin healing in massive ways. With regular use of the cream, my blemishes began retreating and the overall appearance of my skin was visibly more plump and hydrated. This stuff became my skincare holy grail.

As someone with very dry skin, using this repair cream feels like heaven. It’s thick, something I’m always searching for in moisturizers, yet sinks in without leaving any heaviness or a greasy after feel…it’s my perfect face cream. I use it all year long, both morning and night following my eye cream & serums.

Thanks to Biossance, Vitamin C has become a major player in my skin’s healing journey, helping replenish areas of my skin that were majorly damaged from a decade of blemishes and youthful mistakes of spending a little too much time in the sun.
Once I fell head over heels for their Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum (which I use in the mornings), I began incorporating Biossance’s Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil as a last step in the evenings.
After the moisturizing cream, it’s the Vitamin C products from Biossance that I believe are worth more than their weight in gold.
Pro tip: apply the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil into your hands first to warm it up, hold your hands close to your face and take a few deep breaths for a spa like effect, and then gently pat it onto your skin. SO good.

I was thrilled to try out their Squalane + Zinc Sheer Mineral Sunscreen on my recent trip to San Diego. The most important part to me is that the sunscreen is reef safe, but Biossance took it a full step further in making it a nourishing, hydrating formula with the addition of Squalane. It’s lovely.

My Michigan winter skin has been happily protected for my entire San Diego stay, and it’s my go-to trick to squeeze out a little extra sunscreen to rub into my hands, which are often forgotten and can show some of the earliest signs of aging and sun damage (no thank you!).
