And here’s why we care: copper peptides are all the buzz when it comes to clinically-proven collagen boosters. Oh yes, we LOVE all the collagen boosters (gimme all the smoother-looking skin)! So when I heard that our beloved clean beauty brand Biossance had incorporated copper peptides into a new serum, I couldn’t wait to try it.
Biossance Has Something New For Instant + Long-Term Hydration! Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum Is Kind Of A Big Skincare Deal
The Biossance Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum JUST launched (so I can’t speak to my long-term benefits quite yet), but based on what I’ve read about copper peptides, this guy absolutely has a place in my AM and PM skincare routine…and I’m not missing a single day.

Copper peptides are a big deal because they support collagen and elastin production in the skin to increase firmness and create smoother-looking skin. I’m coming for you, frown line and other forehead creases!
Shana and I had both JUST read about the benefits of adding copper peptides into our skincare routines, and we both had begun doing more research on copper peptide products when we heard the exciting launch announcement from Biossance.
Not only does this new serum have copper peptides, but it also includes a blend of three clinically-proven hydrators (hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid (PGA) and sugarcane squalane). Your skin receives the benefits of both collagen AND ultra-hydration in the same serum. Because Biossance does many of my other favorite skincare products so well (prioritizing clean, consciously created sustainable formulas), I was thrilled to start incorporating their newest product into my regular skincare routine.
Adding Copper Peptides Into My Skincare Routine
2021 has been the year I FINALLY accomplished implementing a regular skincare routine. A routine that I actually stick to even when I don’t “feel like it”…even after returning from a night out…even during the busy holiday season. That is saying a LOT for me. For years, I’ve found excuses to skip these routines. Turns out…using good products helps with skincare routine compliance!
I started incorporating Biossance products into my skincare routine about eight months ago and fell in love with several of their products. In particular, I really like their selection of treatment serums.
I use the Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum in the morning as part of my skincare routine and the Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum at night. The Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum can be layered UNDER both of these. Here’s how I do it:
1. Cleanse & Tone
First steps first…cleansing and toning. After cleansing, I use Biossance Squalane + BHA Pore-Minimizing Toner as a second step to make sure my skin is ready for all the product goodness I’m getting ready to give it. I’ve definitely noticed a difference in my pores after starting this product–my skin looks both cleaner and fresher when I’m using this toner regularly.
2. Apply Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum
After cleansing and toning (and then applying any eye treatments I’m using that day), I apply a thin layer of the Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Serum. It absorbs right into my skin, and the dropper makes it easy to know just how much to apply.
3. Then…Layer Other Treatment Serums
For my morning routine, I’m a fan of Biossance’s Squalane + Vitamin C Dark Spot Serum. I have quite a bit of pigmentation in my skin and Vitamin C definitely makes my skin look brighter.
For PM, I’ve been following Shana’s recommendation to use this Squalane + Lactic Acid Resurfacing Serum several days in a row rather than sporadically throughout the month. I rotate my PM serums and use each one for about a week at a time and have really liked the results.
4. Apply Moisturizer, THEN Oil
I also recently learned that my skin likes a cream moisturizer THEN oil. Sometimes I just do one or the other, but in the winter I will often use both. After moisturizing, I’ll apply just a few dabs of my favorite Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil to my skin. This rose oil is actually my favorite Biossance product. It’s the one I make SURE not to ever run out of. I use it after moisturizing in my AM and PM winter routine, but I also will dab it on my cheeks for a little extra glow after applying makeup, dab it on my lips for some extra shine, a bit on my eyelids, my nails, and even the very ends of my hair. The smell is delightful (not overpowering), and it’s obviously super versatile.
Apply SPF if it’s not included in your moisturizer and then you’re good to go!
A big thanks to ShopStyle Collective and Biossance for sponsoring this post. I am ALWAYS game for trying new skincare products, but being one of the first to try your brand new Squalane + Copper Peptide Rapid Plumping Formula was a VERY special treat. And super easy to incorporate into my daily routine. Thank you also to our TME readers–we so appreciate your time and support.
