Ever since meeting Colleen Rothschild back in 2015, I’ve been obsessed with her entire line of skincare. She was so lovely to chat with and the first thing she suggested to me was her Radiant Cleansing Balm after I told her I didn’t wash my face before bed. (Gah! I know, right?)
The Colleen Rothschild Favs At The Heart Of My Beauty Routine
I had just had Greenlea, my first, and I was just so freaking tired — I didn’t want to go through a whole process, I just wanted to sleep. She explained how important it was to get rid of dirt and makeup before bed — especially as we get older — and promised the cleansing balm would be more of a relaxing spa-like experience than a splash water on my face kind of thing.
And you know what? She was totally right.
Radiant Cleansing Balm: Not Your Average Face Wash
First of all, the cleansing balm smells amazing. You just gently rub it onto dry skin, wet the muslin cloth that comes with it (I use really hot water), and then lay it over your skin for a “mini-facial” before wiping it off. Super easy, super relaxing. It doesn’t leave your skin feeling tight like some cleansers can and is just a really, really good product. (Shana’s favorite, btw.)
Since that first jar of cleansing balm, I’ve slowly incorporated more and more of Colleen Rothschild products into my skincare regimen and now I pretty much exclusively use her stuff. It just works. I always try to stock up when she’s having a sale, and right now you can take 20% off the ENTIRE site with code BYE2020. (Gotta love that code, right?)
My 2 Must-Have, Ant-Aging Skincare Products
I use Retinol Supreme Eye Serum and Retinol Supreme Night Oil every single night before bed. There are some products that you just can’t live without–these are mine. Retinoids encourage cell turnover to increase collagen production — to actually decrease wrinkles, plump your skin and fade dark spots. The eye serum is crazy moisturizing and helps to counteract the look of wrinkled and stressed eyes brought upon by age and environmental factors — um, yes, please. The oil refines skin tone and texture, fights age spots, and improves dullness. I am on my umpteenth bottle of both, and if I had to choose just two products to start with, these would be them.
My Nighttime Skincare Routine
Those must-have products are part of a nighttime regimen that I now look forward to instead of dread. I wash my face with the Radiant Cleansing Balm, apply the retinol serums (see above) and finish with the Extreme Recovery Cream (a highly moisturizing cream that’s perfect to use at night). I also love using the Clarifying Detox Mask about once a week to get a really deep clean without drying out my face. And when my skin is really dry (hello, winter!), I’ll use the Intense Hydrating Mask and just leave it on overnight for extra hydration.

My Morning Skincare Regimen
And by morning, I mean when I finally get the chance to get ready for the day (I know you guys feel me). I start with the Radiant Cleansing Balm and then use the Micro-Mineral Soothing Toner. This isn’t the toner you might remember from back in the day –you know, the kind that stung and dried your skin out. This is exactly the opposite: it calms down irritated and sensitive skin and adds extra hydration. Then I use the Complete Eye Cream all around my eyes to help with fine lines, puffiness, and under-eye circles (and I love that it absorbs so nicely and doesn’t interfere with concealer or eyeshadow!).
If my skin is extra dry (which it often is in the winter), I use Face Oil N°9 because it feels amazing, adds intense hydration and makes my skin absolutely glow. (LOVE this stuff.) Finally, I use the Sheer Renewal Cream as a moisturizer that doubles as a makeup primer. It’s lightweight and oil-free, so it’s hydrating without being greasy and absorbs really nicely. (Oh and the Metal Tube Roller Key really helps to get every last bit of product from those tubes!)
Colleen Rothschild Hair & Body
I already loved all of Colleen’s skin care products, so when she ventured out into hair and body care I was excited to try it all. Not surprisingly, I love the scent of her hair care line, but continue to use it because it works. The Quench & Shine Restorative Shampoo is rich and moisturizing, and cleans without stripping my hair. The Quench & Shine Restorative Mask is extremely hydrating and can be used as a weekly intensive treatment or daily conditioner. I like to apply it right to dry hair before bed and rinse it out in the morning for a deep treatment. Both are color-safe and formulated without parabens or sulfates (see the full list of ingredients via the links). The Smooth & Shine Hair Serum can be used on both wet or dry hair–use a small amount before blow-drying to help smooth hair, and on dry hair to tame frizz and flyaways. I just keep this in my bag and apply it whenever I need some extra help on my ends. (And have I mentioned it smells SO good?? This set includes trial sizes of all her products at a crazy good price!)
Colleen Rothschild also created a body care line that consists of a creamy oil body wash, body scrub, and body butter. And, you guys, I can’t explain how good these products are. The Tahitian Monoi scent smells like a tropical vacation, and I just recently got to try the Honey Vanilla that smells amazing too — like warm vanilla and sandalwood. (If she ever comes out with a perfume I will be all in.) The body oil is incredibly moisturizing — it cleans without making your skin feel tight and dry, and the scrub helps to slough off dead skin cells. I’ve never used a body scrub that leaves my skin feeling so soft and smooth before. And the body butter is super-rich and hydrates all day with just a little bit of product.
A huge thank you to Colleen Rothschild and ShopStyle for sponsoring this post–I’m basically a huge fangirl because your products are SO effective, and I love sharing my excitement about them with our readers! Abby, thank you for the photos–always a pleasure to work with you! And readers, thank you so much for your continued support. It is SO appreciated and does not go unnoticed!
XOXO,
Scotti
Oh hey, Pinners…
Hi Scotti. I’ve been interested in adding an oil to my regimen, but I’m wondering if the retinol oil would be too much bc I do already use a retinol every other night alternated with a vit C cream. Do you think that would just be too much retinol to also add the CR retinol oil? I’m also considering the Face Oil No.9. TIA!!
Hi E – I also switch between prescription retinol and CR’s retinol oil. I take 1-2 nights off of retinol per week- so far, it’s been working!
Thank you so much. I’ve gone all in on Colleen Rothschild products since March and I love them, too. I’ve just purchased the eye cream and the serum but love the Face Oil 9, the Retinol Oil, the Vitamin C cream, the extreme recovery cream… and more. Such awesome products. and thanks for introducing us to them all.
Thank you, Shana! I’m going to try it 🙂
