Beauty products are my favorite gifts to both give and receive during the holidays.
Okay, fine. They’re actually my favorite gift to give myself, too.
I find beauty products easier to give than clothing, home goods, or even tech. And when it comes to receiving beauty products, whether it’s a product I already have and love, or something new from a brand I’ve never tried, it feels like hitting the gift-getting jackpot every time.
Skincare Product Gift Ideas: Top 10 Nordstrom Brands I Recommend
While makeup and cosmetics are definitely exciting gifts (this lip product would make for an excellent stocking stuffer) what I’m truly passionate about is good quality skin and hair care products, or what I like to refer to as beauty wellness products.
Taking care of my body — skin and hair included — is my most important self-care ritual.
This is why I feel confident in this list as both my top ten skincare and beauty products of 2022 and a brainstorm of luxurious gifts for the holiday season…especially for yourself!
Osea body products are some of the most luxurious products I have ever put on my skin. This gift set of their four bestsellers — a body scrub, balm, butter and oil — are seaweed-infused products loaded with vitamins and minerals. They are inspired by the ocean and smell ridiculously good.
And, friends, the company is AMAZING – Osea is clean beauty, climate neutral, vegan & cruelty-free, and female-founded.
Pro Tip: Moisturizer For Dry Skin
I love layering the balm, butter and oil on my skin all together. It gives me the most supple, healthy-feeling skin that actually lasts throughout the day and is one of the most healing solutions I’ve found for my extra dry skin.
True Botanicals is a company I’ve known about for a while. I finally tried it out this year and now I’m hooked.
True Botanicals products are 100% non-toxic and are MADE SAFE certified (using ingredients that don’t cause harm to people or ecosystems) and their clinical results are pretty epic.
If you’ve never used a cleansing balm before, you must. The process alone is the most superior face-washing experience I’ve ever had. The balm feels (and smells) grounding and calming, and literally melts the makeup (and day) right off your face in the best of ways.
The Chebula Extreme Cream is a super hydrating face cream that feels glorious on the skin. It’s thick and healing, but melts into the skin beautifully. Plus it’s made without any pore-clogging waxes that are often found in face creams (my acne-prone skin is thankful for this)!
I love finishing my face cleansing routine with an oil because of how sensational it can feel, but I’ve had a lot of problems with oils on my face in the past. True Botanicals has 3 Pure Radiance Oils – clear (for oily or blemish-prone skin), renew (for normal to dry skin), and calm (for sensitive or irritated skin).
Not only do True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oils all smell amazing, but “clear” has been so healing to my face, without causing bumps or clogged pores as other oils have done for me in the past.
Uhm, are you ready for the best hair of your life?!
My hairdresser recommended Davines products and I am obsessed.
As someone with thick, dry hair, I’m always searching for hair products with a rich lather. I’ve never had as good of a shampoo lather and soft, creamy conditioner combo as I get with this pair.
The bonus? Davines shampoo and conditioner actually make my hair shiny!
To really upgrade the haircare experience, I recommend trying Davines OI Oil, as well. It’s the perfect finishing touch to enhance shine, while also helping detangle + fight frizz.
I first fell in love with Peter Thomas Roth face masks when I tried the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask a few years back. The product was tingling (my favorite) and left me with the most vibrant, glowing skin. I was hooked.
You can scoop up a 4-piece set of masks (valued at $170!) and have endless gifting opportunities. Either split them up for your best friends (saving one for yourself!) or give the whole set to someone who loves skincare!
Body scrubs are an amazing and easy gift for just about anyone.
Tula has a cult following for all its products, and the body scrub is no exception. Packed with prebiotics & probiotics, papaya, and pineapple, these gentle scrubs are reaaaally good for a deluxe shower experience. This trio set is a holiday edition (with holiday scents!), making them even better for popping in a stocking.
Maybe the one product I’ve used the absolute most lately is Patchology eye gels. I love the way they help de-puff and brighten my under eyes, and it’s become a ritual I look forward to every morning with my coffee.
If you don’t want to commit to the full tub, you can try them out first with this 5 pack (which is what I originally did)!
Pro tip? Throw them in the fridge (or freezer, but they’re a little harder to get out) for a soothing, cooling effect.
The last item on my list is a little different. It’s not a product that needs to be replenished like hair oil or skin moisturizer. But deserved a spot on my curated top 10 beauty-wellness products because of how freaking GOOD it is.
As someone who’s pretty terrible at doing their own hair, I feel like I’m cheating with the T3 curling iron. While it’s a professional quality iron, it’s incredibly EASY to use. I never feel like I’m going to burn myself and the iron is very lightweight and easy to hold in your hand.
I can somehow whip up a better hairdo with this baby than I’ve ever been able to in the past, and the confidence boost it has given me is the reason I consider it one of my beauty wellness tools!
