Bermuda Shorts Outfit #1: Crochet Top + Bright Flip-Flops
A really easy way to make denim Bermuda shorts feel intentional = add texture and a pop of color. A crochet tank brings just enough summer personality, while bright jelly flip-flops keep the whole look playful, shockingly comfy and fun. Finished with an easy, statement bag and a few fun accessories, it’s the kind of outfit that works alllll summer long.
Bermuda Shorts Outfit #2: Fisherman Sandals + Floral Top
There’s something about the combination of longer shorts, a feminine floral top, and sturdy fisherman sandals (our fave for this summer) that just works. The contrast keeps the outfit balanced; sweet but not precious, relaxed but still cool. Add a raffia hat and a few simple accessories and you’re done! I’m obsessed with this one.
Bermuda Shorts Outfit #3: Jelly Sandals + White Poplin Top
A crisp white poplin top has a way of making almost anything feel elevated which is why I’m such a fan. And Bermuda shorts are obviously no exception! Paired with my go-to jelly sandals and a bag we’ve been grabbing every single summer for YEARS. Peep how this top + shorts combo looks in real life on me, here. (It’s perfection.)
The Best Shoes To Wear With Bermuda Shorts
The shoe you choose makes or breaks a Bermuda shorts outfit – here’s what we reach for most:
Fisherman sandals. AKA, our current obsession. The chunky straps and sturdy sole add just enough structure to balance the relaxed length of longer shorts.
Jelly flip-flops or jelly sandals. Playful, colorful, and surprisingly versatile (+ comfy!). They randomly go with everything (I swear).
Ballet flats. Want your Bermuda shorts to skew a little more polished? Ballet flats do it immediately. A linen or tailored pair especially.
Low-profile sneakers. For the walkers. I’ve worn mine with every pair of low-profile sneakers that I own and I loved every one.
Slide sandals. Minimal, modern, effortless. A simple leather or raffia slide is a great move. (Hiii, Birks.)
What to avoid: Chunky platform sneakers or heavy shoes can make Bermuda shorts feel visually heavy. Generally, the longer the inseam, the lighter the shoe silhouette should be.
Bermuda Shorts FAQ:
What shoes look best with Bermuda shorts? Fisherman sandals, jelly & mesh shoes, ballet flats, low-profile sneakers, and minimal sandals all work really well with Bermuda shorts. The key is keeping footwear light and low-profile – the longer inseam creates enough visual weight on its own.
What tops go best with Bermuda shorts? Crochet tanks, poplin tops, fitted tees, flowy floral blouses, and even lightweight button-downs all work. The length of Bermuda shorts gives you room to play with different top proportions – tucked, half-tucked, or left loose with the perfect crop.
What’s the difference between Bermuda shorts and regular shorts? Bermuda shorts typically hit just above the knee (around a 9″–11″ inseam), making them longer than most casual shorts.
Are Bermuda shorts flattering? Yes. The longer inseam creates balance and coverage, while styling details like a fitted top, waist definition, or statement accessories can help create shape.
How do you make Bermuda shorts look stylish? Focus on contrast. Pair relaxed Bermuda shorts with elevated pieces like crochet tops, structured tanks, feminine blouses, or statement footwear that leans a little bit unexpected.
Are Bermuda shorts in style for 2026? Yes! Denim, linen, tailored and even silk Bermuda shorts are a key summer silhouette, especially when styled with cool, trendy shoes and accessories.
