The 12 Black One-Piece Swimsuits We’re Most Excited About

In case you missed it, Shana and I officially updated our Swim Guide with allll the suit styles we’re loving for this year. We also did a little round up of our top ten favorites in different style categories (stripes, brights, floral, animal print, etc). This time around, we’ve pulled together our top twelve black one-piece swimsuits we’re super excited about, with some reader and team fave brands thrown in the mix.

There’s no denying that you can’t go wrong with a black one-piece swimsuit. It never fails to just look fresh and chic (and it helps us neutral-lovers bring some darkness into the summertime, heh). Narrowing this down was…tough. There’s a ton of great options out there, but there’s some (twelve to be exact) that has us all kinds of excited for the warm weather.

Our Top 12 Black One-Piece Swimsuit Picks

I find that black one-piece swimsuits can often double as a bodysuit, so if you’re someone that likes to go from the ocean to a beach-front bar or restaurant, just pop on a skirt or denim shorts over your one piece. The suits we rounded up this year are especially tempting to wear as a top. Like, hello, look at this gorgeous satin swimsuit. (You might see me out in one this summer even if I don’t go to the beach or pool first — but that stays between us!)

1. Seafolly Active V-Neck One-Piece Swimsuit

Amazon (more sizes) | Anthropologie

This is the Seafolly swimsuit that Scotti’s worn in summers past, that everyone was excited about (including me). It’s surprisingly sexy in an understated kinda way. You can see a sneak peek photo of Scotti wearing it on our swim guide page.

2. SPORLIKE One Piece Swimsuit

This suit looks way more expensive than it is (under $50!!) and it’s one of Em’s suits she tried on for uneven breasts. I’d totally play up the fancy a bit and add that sunhat and oversized sunnies.

3. Totême Edge One-Piece Swimsuit

Saks Fifth Avenue

This is the suit Shana can’t stop thinking about. It’s simple but those little tan details make it feel chic. And the bottom isn’t too cheeky if you like a bit of coverage.

4. Beach Riot Celine Cutout One-Shoulder Swimsuit

Reviewers and S love Beach Riot swimsuits — they’re surprisingly comfortable and fit great. This suit does come in other vibrant colors, too.

5. Boden Symi String Swimsuit

Boden’s another brand we can rely on for great swim — Laura’s loved them for years. This one has such good texture (and make sure to check out that back).

6. Good American Whip Stitch Compression Swimsuit

Good American

I loveee a scuba-compression fabric. I feel like it holds and lifts everything up exactly the way I want. This is a perfect example of one I’d be tempted to wear as a bodysuit for a night out — that whipstitch detail takes this otherwise simple black swimsuit up a notch, and it’s available in sizes XS-5X. Overall, Good American has great plus-size options.

7. Good American Vacay Belted Stretch-Satin Swimsuit

Good American swimsuit

Can’t stop thinking about this suit. It’s another one I’m tempted to wear as a bodysuit regardless of my activities that day. The back is what really got me, but even the front has some interest with a super flattering neckline and tie-waist.

8. Sanctuary Cap-Sleeve Cutout One-Piece Swimsuit

I’ve been venturing into the swimsuits with cap-sleeves. Something about it is just so dang…chic. Yup, it’s just chic guys I simply do not have a better word to describe it! I also appreciate that the whole back is covered since the front has some cutouts, and if you’re someone that always gets burned on your back and shoulders (like me) this is a great option.

9. Andie The Fiji Lace-Up Back Long Torso One-Piece Swimsuit

Business in the front, party on the back, yup. Shana’s tried out Andie swim in the past and loved. It didn’t just look cute in that girl-next-door kinda way, but it performed. Tested in the ocean AND waterpark. And, guys! Andie swim is carried at Nordstrom now. Woohoo!

10. Vuori Dune One Piece

We had to include this swimsuit because not only do reviewers love it for its subtle sexiness and overall fit, but it has POCKETS. Ummm, yes please! As an aunt who tries to catch my nephew being his cute self whenever I can, this makes getting photos (and beaching) so much easier — just pop your phone right in your suit.

11. Marysia Swim Sole Embroidered Seersucker Swimsuit

Marysia has carried some of Shana’s fave swimsuits. They’re definitely on the pricey side, but the fabric is truly luxe, soft and most importantly, comfortable. With this suit, it’s all in the little details with that white contrast stitching.

12. Becca Color Code Santorini One-Piece Swimsuit

Becca has been a team and reader fave brand for years. They’re sexy, but not too cheeky and the options feel endless. I like the little bow on the back of this one and of course, the details on the front.

Happy almost summer! Stay tuned for more swim drops.

  1. I recently bought the Andie Mykonos 1 piece in black and it would be a great addition to your list! I think it’s really flattering and the extra wide straps are supportive. And I love the long torso option!
