Hey, hey Friday! We typically call November “no-school November” due to multiple days off for teacher workdays, conferences and the holidays, but this year it’s become literal. It’s been nuts but I hope it means our kids and educators will be able to get what they need to safely (and hopefully successfully) be in schools from here on out. It’s gorgeously made and smacks of higher-end construction, look and feel. AND it has a detachable hood, which is clutch in the PNW (and honestly why don’t more trench coats have hoods?!) Happy Friday, party people! I am stoked for the weekend ahead because it’s the first in a while where I won’t have construction workers in my house! It’s felt a little chaotic as of late, and I am planning on spending the weekend recharging and editing my overflowing closet. I’ve got way too many things that are cluttering my space and my mind, and am feeling like I want to get rid of everything and live a more minimalist life. Aspirational, I know…because I am a maximalist to my core.
Anywhoo, this week I’ve got gifting on my mind and I just found the perfect gift for my bestie who is a bit of a party girl. It’s a genius and cute hangover kit that says “something for the party animal.” She will love it! Nordstrom has a ton of items in the Black Friday Sale that are perfect for my baby brother. ONE: OMG I just bought this feathery & festive top a few weeks ago and now it’s 40% off! I am obsessed with it so much, I actually just styled it up five different ways over on IG. It’s perfect for dressing up for minimalist holiday looks and great for wearing to the office too!
TWO: Colorado’s climate is bone dry all year round, but it’s especially so in the winter. I can’t live without humidifiers in my house, and I have this Vitruvi humidifier in my living plus a second one in my bedroom. This week has been a busy one at work and on top of all that, our boys were both home sick. Nothing like back-to-back calls from their respective schools to pick them up. We have a busy weekend planned with a birthday party, date night, and then basketball for our oldest. Although our youngest and I might skip basketball practice and go hang out at our local library. One thing I do need to do is go through the boys’ thicker winter coats and see what still fits and what doesn’t.

ONE: Matching pajamas are my weakness and J.Crew gets me every time they have a sale. I have my eye on these that are currently on sale. They are just easy to wear especially during the holidays when we are with family. I usually wear a sports bra underneath and I can easily go into the kitchen to get coffee with my in-laws without feeling uncomfortable.
TWO: Dresses are one thing I find easy when it comes to getting ready in the morning. I do not have to worry about the bottoms matching the top. Winter months you will always find me in sweater dresses. This Abercrombie dress is one of the easiest to wear in my closet, it’s comfy, and feels like pajamas. They work with sneakers, heels, boots, and the kitten heels I am wearing above just happen to be on sale.

It’s the most wonderful tiimeeeee…these moments leading up to cozy holidays always feel the most exciting to me. The pregame, the to-do lists, the buzz in the air. So many retailers are doing some sort of pre-black Friday sales right now, which, personally, I enjoy so that I don’t feel quite as frantic on actual Black Friday trying to find what’s on my list in time/before it sells out.
This sweater might be my top pick of the whole weekend – it has the perfect silhouette + color with the addition of the sweetest, tiniest sequins. Pair with a great pair of pants and you have your cozy holiday outfit locked down! Free People has a 24-hour sale starting today, which gives you a bigger discount the more you spend. If you’re shopping, I recommend my latest favorite set from them: the red color is perfect for the season! And Nordstrom – well, if I’m being brutally honest, I’m usually a grinch about their sales. However, it feels really different for me this year – all the cozy Free People tops alone are worth a perusal!
ONE: When I tell you I found incredible alternative options to two of my fave fancy sweaters this past week – omg. This one I’m wearing is the closest thing I’ve found to my fave Jenni Kayne wool crewneck, the biggest difference is length. It isn’t nearly as long, but that does make it a bit easier to wear with denim (and is a plus if you’re shorter than me). I would size up if you want that JK oversized fit, but my true size in this is a perfect fit. While you’re there – check out this cardigan, a wildly good alternative to Ref’s Fantino Cardigan (I actually GIGGLED at how similar they were when first putting it on!!).
TWO: 40% off these jeans is truly shocking to me – like, feels like a mistake kind of shocking. These jeans are both unique yet chic, streamlined yet looser fitting. They went lightning fast over at Saks but are still stocked in this wash AND white at Nordstrom. I love them so much I might actually scoop up the white, myself. True to size for me! PS – the whole jeans/denim sale section is actually really exciting.

Back in the real world after what felt like our first real vacation in years, and I have to say – we’re doing ok. Last week I shared my big “hack” for improving the vacation hangover: wash your dirty laundry before you come home. This week it’s Book A Trip Out West That Spans Daylight Savings. Can’t say how lovely it was to reduce that time diff from three hours to two.

Wait a minute. adidas’ current sale is bonkers, especially if you’re an adiclub member (email sign-up only). My beloved adidas Spiritain dad sneaks are on sale for $70 ($60 for members). Well stocked in my exact colorway AND in the all-gray (they give even stronger New Balance vibes). These are chubby and on-trend and SO very comfortable and just the best. I’ve worn them for running and hiking, too, so they also meet performance expectations. Size down half from your usual.
Also on sale? My Helionic Down Vest, which is cute, yes, but also water repellent and super toasty with 600-fill down. It took me a minute, but it was my foray into oversized vest territory and I’ve worn it every morning to drop-off since. On sale for $78 for adiclub members (true to size, wearing a size small).
My semi-cropped sweatshirt is down to $22 ($17 for adiclub members) – the proportions on this one are perfect. (Limited stock in my color, but there are six others, wearing a size small.)

This week was a whirlwind, as I’m sure it has been for many of you. Trying to get work projects in good shape before the holiday, pulling together a menu for the big feast, and enjoying my creative work have taken up the bulk of my time. I’m pretty excited about the content I’ve been making for you all, comparing wool coats, trying on snow boots, and finding the perfect, sparkly holiday outfits for curvy babes. In my downtime, I’m relaxing with just-released books that I’m so excited about – Bookshops & Bonedust by Travis Baldree, System Collapse by Martha Wells, and The Narrow Road Between Desires by Patrick Rothfuss.
This year, the sales are starting really early, and I’m not mad about it. You’ve seen my picks for the Nordstrom and Saks sales, but the sale I’m most excited about for myself is the 40% off sale at Madewell. Madewell has been hitting it out of the park for me lately, and I’ve bought this gorgeous cocoa-colored wool coat, this absolutely perfect Rory Gilmore-esque cable knit sweater, and this comfy polo sweatshirt that is giving me Frank & Eileen vibes. I’ll include a few more picks below because there are some great holiday pieces as well.
ONE: I have had and loved this Rails plaid shirt for two seasons. The quality is outstanding, and it’s one of my most worn items for fall and winter. The drape is fantastic, and the fabric is so soft. Runs TTS.
TWO: Pinsy makes my very favorite bodysuits, and right now, they have 30% off sitewide (and 40% off sale!). I’m typically a size 14, and the XL size fits me comfortably. For more compression, size down. P.S. The flare jeans I’m wearing are on sale too!

Happy Friday all! This is my first time getting on the Weekly Sales Report. Whoa–there are a lot of sales, how do we even narrow it down?! I’ll keep it simple with my-go-to store for athletic wear, Athleta. I had to grab my fav leggings and the summer dress I want everyone to own. My goal is to focus on the athletic/athleisure stuff for you all (and myself, wink).
ONE: I know it’s hard to think of summer when it’s clearly not and the holidays are just around the corner. But, you must get this dress while it is on sale (regularly over $100, now 50% off). It is seriously one of my best purchases. Comfort, absorbs sweat and water, doesn’t wrinkle, feels like you have nothing on during those hot summer days and can easily be dressed up or down. I go between a small and medium and I sized down because it’s a relaxed fit.
TWO: I keep coming back to these leggings. Even after trying other brands and styles, I always come back. Also 50% off right now. They are smooth and soft, give compression (but not too much!) and the high waist length sits just perfect. I actually just grabbed two pairs for myself yesterday.
