There are gifts that come as a welcome surprise…and then, there are gifts that are just welcome.
And even though we can all get a good laugh out of the infamous Christmas Socks that come every year, I’d be lying if I said they didn’t fall high on my list of most-used gifts. (Just make them Bombas please, Santa.)
The Best Gifts To Give (Or Receive) Every Year
When our team set out to work on 2023 gift guides, Gifts I’d Like To Receive Every Year was a no-brainer. The result? A list of the best (and most necessary) gifts, fresh for a new year ahead. Think elevated basics that are pretty enough to slap a bow on top. If you’ve found yourself at a loss for what to gift someone on your list, maybe start here. With the obvious stuff. Because these things are SO much more exciting when you don’t have to buy them for yourself. Right? Right.
The only rule is to make it pretty so it feels more like a gift, and less like a necessary restock. Luxe pajamas, pretty pens, refills of their favorite cleaning supplies with cute packaging…you get the idea.
But would I love to receive a massive bottle of not-so-pretty Aquaphor every year? Not no. But that one might make its appearance in our upcoming Stocking Stuffers gift guide instead. Wink wink.

Confession: I picked this tequila simply for its pretty bottle. So when it comes to gifting, you can either go with your absolute favorite spirit or, just grab the one with the cutest label (that’s how I like to do it).
2. Inca’s Food Aji Amarillo Paste
S and Mike D discovered this Amarillo paste for cooking at home, and it’s juuuust pricey enough that it would make a wonderful, unexpected gift.
3. Salt & Stone Body Wash
The best-smelling body wash I have EVER used. Leaves skin super soft and hydrated. If you haven’t tried this yet, do it.

Get the matching lotion, obvi.
5. Printfresh Pajamas
A fresh set of PJs is always welcome, year after year. And WOW, Printfresh. I already adore their organic cotton sleep sets (here’s my newest pair) but they have really outdone themselves with these satin pjs. So luxurious to receive as a gift. And I’m always a sucker for those prints.
6. Blueland Hand Soap Refill Packs
Another rec from S. She loves Blueland for its safe ingredients and reusable, eco-friendly packaging. A refill of someone’s favorite products like these would be the perfect gift to give every year.
7. Ursa Major Cleanser
Great gifted skincare? Yes, please. Try anything by Colleen Rothschild orrrr our newest obsession: Ursa Major. You can’t go wrong with this one.
8. Augustinus Bader The Lip Balm
Who wouldn’t love to get a fancy new lip balm every year? This is the epitome of something I probably wouldn’t buy for myself but would LOVE to have gifted to me.

Another incredible gift to give literally anyone, every year. Luxe hand soap is such a treat when you have it.

The best-smelling candle, EVER. This might have to be a, “one for you, one for me” situation.

Keychains can get pretty worn down. Why not gift someone an upgrade? I love a tassel keychain because it’s super easy to find in my bags.

Ahhh a big ol’ supersized tub of delicious cleansing balm to pair with those wild & crazy washcloths. Come on, you know you’d want these.
21. Touchland Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer
An everyday necessity like this hand sanitizer is the perfect thing to gift someone any (and every) year.
22. Charbonnel et Walker Sea Salt Caramel Truffles
You can gift me chocolate at any time of year, really. No need to wait until the holidays.
23. Molekule Air Filters
Another practical (yet welcome!) refill on the household necessities. If your giftee loves a good air filter, get them some replacements. They’ll love you for it.

Miss practicality here, again. Any adult in your life would appreciate this.
