I wear a LOT of MOTHER denim. At this point I’ve tried so many of their styles that even I have trouble keeping the names straight (Hustler Roller Sneak? SNACKS!? The Weekender?). But despite the somewhat confusing names, there are a few fits I find myself coming back to over and over again.
The Best MOTHER Jeans For Curves (My 4 Go-To Fits)
So rather than attempting to review every pair of MOTHER jeans I’ve ever worn (we’d be here all day), I’m narrowing it down to four fits I really love: a flare, a classic wide leg, a slimmer ankle-length pair and a looser, more dramatic wide leg. (And because MOTHER also happens to make some of the most fun denim I’ve tried, I’m throwing in a couple of those at the end, too.)
1. MOTHER Denim: The Hustler Roller Sneak Jeans
If I had to pick one MOTHER jean that works especially well for my shape, it would probably be the Hustler Roller Sneak. These are some of the best booty jeans I’ve ever worn. The 11-inch rise defines my waist without feeling tight, there’s no annoying gap in the back, and somehow they manage to give my butt a little lift while still having that relaxed, wide-leg shape.

I also LOVE the 32-inch inseam. At 5’4″, it’s my sweet spot for wearing with heels, long enough to get that leg-lengthening look without dragging all over the floor. And unlike some wide-leg jeans that just sort of hang straight down, these still show off my shape through the waist and booty before widening through the leg.
I’ve now tried the Hustler Roller Sneak in multiple washes, and the fit has been consistently good. They work with fitted or looser tops, look great with a belt, and are easy to dress up or down. If you have a smaller waist with curvier hips and a booty, this is the MOTHER fit I’d try first.

Also worth noting: MOTHER makes the Hustler Roller Sneak in different versions, including the Patch Pocket Sneak, which has the same general silhouette with those retro front patch pockets. I don’t think you need both, but if you love the Hustler Roller fit, it’s a really fun variation.
2. MOTHER Denim: The Weekender Jeans
No matter what denim trends come and go, I will always love a good flare. The shape just makes sense to me: fitted through the hips and thighs with a flared leg that makes your legs look longer (always a plus on my 5’4″ frame). And MOTHER’s Weekender is one of the best versions I’ve found.
jeans (29, also in petite sizes) | bodysuit (xs) | bag
I’ve worn this fit in multiple washes over the years, and it’s consistently good. The Weekender is a mid-rise, with the current washes I’m seeing landing around 9.5–9.75 inches. Because they sit lower on the waist, I sometimes size up to a 29, which is pretty consistent for me with mid-rise jeans across the board. (I’m typically a 28 in higher-rise styles.)

The exact details vary slightly by wash, but MOTHER’s classic Weekender has a 31-inch inseam and that same fitted-through-the-hips-and-thighs, flared-at-the-bottom shape I love. Most of the pairs I’ve tried also have a bit of stretch, so they’re soft and comfortable without losing that leg-lengthening silhouette. (I hate stiff, rigid denim.)

If you’re not into all the wide-leg denim happening right now, or just want a shape that’s a little sexier and shows off your curves, The Weekender is the MOTHER flare I’d start with.
3. MOTHER Denim: The Insider Ankle Step Fray
I’ve purchased the Insider Ankle Step Fray in multiple washes over the years, too. It’s a high-rise cropped bootcut, with a 10.5-inch rise, 27.5-inch inseam and 15.25-inch leg opening. Instead of the longer, more dramatic flare of The Weekender, these hit right around the ankle with a frayed step hem.
jeans (28, also at Anthro & Bloomingdale’s)
They’re made with stretch denim, too, so even though they’re fitted through the hips and thighs, they’re really comfortable. If you like a slimmer jean but don’t necessarily want to go back to skinnies, this is such a good in-between.

And honestly, the length is one of the biggest reasons I keep coming back to them. In the winter, I can wear them with boots without worrying about the hems dragging through snow, slush and puddles (the WORST).

But they’re just as good in warmer weather when I don’t necessarily want a full-length jean. The cropped length is perfect for warmer weather and shows off fun shoes.
4. MOTHER Denim: SNACKS! The Lemon Twist
These are the most exaggerated of the four fits, and that’s exactly why I love them. They have a loose, slouchy wide leg with a curved outer seam that gives them this really cool, oversized shape. They’re super high-waisted with an 11.5-inch rise, which hits right around my belly button, and the 32-inch inseam makes the whole shape feel extra long and dramatic.
jeans (28, also at Saks) | similar bodysuit | sandals
I like balancing out the exaggerated shape with something shorter or more fitted on top (like a bodysuit or shorter top), and I love them with a belt, too. It helps to define the waist and looks especially good with the super-wide legs. If you want something beyond a classic wide leg, this is the MOTHER fit I’d go for.
jeans (28, also at Saks) | belt | top (m)
The denim is listed as rigid, but the recycled cotton fabric is actually really soft. (And because the legs are cut so loose, I don’t miss the stretch at all.)
But MOTHER’s Fun Jeans Are My Weakness…
And then there are the MOTHER jeans that are just…FUN. I mean, fringe running all the way down the legs? A chain at the waist?? 😂 Obviously I had to try them.
fringe jeans (28, also at Bloomingdale’s) | tank (s) | off the chain jeans (28)
Are they practical? Absolutely not. Do I care? Also no. 😂 I LOVE both of these, and honestly, sometimes the jeans are the outfit.
MOTHER is hands-down my favorite denim brand because they’re just so consistently good on curves, across SO many different styles. The Hustler Roller Sneak is probably my favorite overall, The Weekender will forever be my go-to flare, the Insider Ankle Step Fray is SO good with boots and sandals, and SNACKS! is the one I reach for when I want something a little more dramatic.
And clearly, I’m always going to say yes to the fun statement pairs, too. 😂
XOXO,
Scotti
