Ceci, my 10-year-old, fire-starter of a tween Zoomer was up and at ’em early Monday morning. She overheard a quick call with Shana Aunty, and when I was finished, she said, “So Mom, we’re on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale? How about I go throw together a few capsules?” And off she went!

I have to say, in a proud mom moment, just…wow. Icon-in-training for sure. Ceci’s #NSale game is focused on what she’ll actually wear this year, to virtual school-from-home, dance-from-home, to a few outdoor physically-distant gatherings, like art outside on a Friday night, and for our weekly hikes. In other words…the perfect set of Zoomer capsule wardrobes for 2020.

Mom! The NSale is great this year! So much more to choose from than last year! I chose mostly black, but most of the things I chose also come in fun colors! The athleisure is great because that’s what we all live in, in quarantine. I guess if there’s a silver lining to school-from-home, it’s that I don’t have to wear a school uniform! And my favorite part of the #NSale this year is that so much of what they have is gender [nonconforming]!

Monday’s are hard, right? There’s nothing better than a T-shirt dress with POCKETS. And the leggings are high-waisted, which is more comfortable when I sit on Zooms, as well as when I dance, so I can actually live in them. I love when my brother wears his sport socks all the way up; I’m going to borrow that look this year–just do it! Right? And these are super-supportive sneakers for all the dance classes every day! They do feel like dancing on air! Who can go wrong with all black and white?

Wide-Leg Jeans, Denim Jacket & A Cute Top or Tee
Tuesdays are a great day to pull it together just a little bit. I love these wide-leg jeans because denim is great and you can pair it with everything from comfortable to fancy! Wide-leg jeans are so much easier going than skinnies. I would tie the t-shirt in a knot at my waist and wear it with the jean jacket. But that yarn-dye striped top, tho!!! I love having a unique top paired with something more casual. Alla (grandma) is going to LOVE that top!

Workout Wednesday is actually every day around here. While I miss my dance classes so much, it’s been amazing to at least get to see everyone and keep dancing on Zoom. It took a bit to get used to, but hey, it’s what we’ve got, right? Also, mom has us doing her August Fitness challenge with her–abs and squats. This outfit is very comfortable with that hoodie giving it a fun girlie touch. Also, I always love a great Adidas sneaker. I have these in another colorway, but my foot grew, so I’m looking forward to styling/sizing up in these.

Corduroy pants, fleece Jacket & solid cropped top or Rolling Stones tee
Throwback Thursday!!! This crop tee works with everything. And while not everyone would love the Stones tongue tee-shirt, I see it and start singing I can’t get no…satisfaction! Mom has a ton of cords, and I didn’t really get it until tried them on, OMG they are so soft! And I love this color too! And this fleece, is just super soft, like a big hug. I love the accent color too!

Fridays are for fun! Quarantine is different. But we still manage to go out to see fun art shows outdoors sometimes. And sometimes Mom drags us on not so fun city mural tours in the rain. But even that is ok too. I’m hoping that we do get to see some outdoor performances and art this fall and although we might not get any special events, sometimes it’s fun just to dress up for yourself!

Saturdays are for hikes! I’m the ONLY kid in this house that says Yay!!! to a hike, but we all always have fun once we get there. Black Adidas are better for hikes because we always get a little muddy. And then we just throw our sneaker in the washing machine, no big deal. It’s also always good to have an extra layer, especially because I like to jump the rocks in the creek and often get really wet.

PJs For All The Days
Sundays sound like they are going to roll right into Mondays around here because apparently for this school year we’re going to have a schedule and start early. My brother is going to hate that. I don’t love it, but it’ll be fine. It’ll be easier if I sleep in something I can also Zoom in. The cuddle sweatshirt might be the thing I wear most this year. I always am looking for fluffy pajama pants, and I’m excited about the short and long ones I found here! I’m also obsessed with the slippers, I’m going to wear those every day like they are my new school uniform.
