Retail therapy is by far my favorite way to deal with stress. Feeling overwhelmed at work? Go shopping. In a complicated relationship? A peruse around one of your fav stores will do. Have a few hours to kill before your next meeting? Yep, you guessed it — shopping is the answer. My love for shopping doesn’t end at clothes, I love to shop for anything. Grocery shopping, school supplies, furniture, and shopping for others — they all bring me so much joy.
But shopping at Nordstrom is an entire experience. Personally, I think it’s reminiscent of how Cinderella felt when her fairy godmother (along with the mice) helped her curate the most perfect ensemble. The Nordstrom fairies will parade around the store with you, giving incredible recommendations for what’s in style and what would look best on your body. And boy oh boy, was my most recent trip to Nordy Land amazing. I came home with some seriously stellar items. If I could have, I totally would have taken the entire wardrobe home with me.
12 Fall & Winter Outfit Pieces At Nordstrom
1. Pieces to Pair with My Favorite Joggers
These joggers were what I actually wore shopping. They aren’t from Nordy, but they are the absolute most comfortable joggers in the history of joggers. I bought them at Anthropologie and have been living in them ever since. I love that joggers are a classier version of sweatpants, and they totally look like you tried with your outfit. Every time I wear these, I get so many compliments. They pair perfectly with a chunky sweater, a sleek black top, or a nice jacket.
2. Jackets To Dress Up…or Down
Right now, the jacket and blazer game at Nordstrom is SO GOOD. I love the versatility of options they had. The first jacket below is a lightweight military green jacket that has gray sweater material accents. It’s the perfect option for layering or for wearing in the office if you tend to get chilly. The jean jacket I’m featuring is one that I love because the distressed look goes so well with many different outfits. I paired it with a Free People top and some corduroy pants that have the slightest flare. Last, but certainly not least, is the most beautiful Glen plaid blazer that has detailing for days. I personally love the patches on the elbows, and also like the extra stretch in the fabric.
3. These Tees (All Weekend Long)
This Sunday Funday sweater and refreshed camo top are perfect for weekend outings. I personally think they would be great additions to a great pair of joggers. The sweater works really well with a long jean skirt too, and the camo top can be dressed up or down.
Outfit 1: This top is sold out, but here is another great winter weekend option from the same brand!
4. The Perfect Teddy Coat
I personally, haven’t jumped on the teddy coat or fuzzy sweater train, but this long teddy definitely turned me into a fan. I loved the length, the color, and it was oh-so-soft!
5. Sweaters That Aren’t Short On The Details
Whenever sweater season comes around, I get serious sweater fever. I love a good sweater that adds a little something extra to an outfit. The first sweater is the perfect elegant option to really wear with anything, and I paired it with these stellar plaid bottoms. You all already know that I love a good balloon-sleeved top, and this sweater was so soft! It’s such a great option for a holiday party too. The third option was my absolute fav and came home with me! Every time I’ve worn it, I’ve gotten so many great compliments and I’ve paired it with corduroys, skirts, and even leggings. The cowl neck, balloon sleeves and colors are so fun! Last, but certainly not least, is the dog person sweater, which is totally my life and personally needs no further explanation.
6. I’m Having An Emerald Green Moment
When I tried this top on, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the style, but the color was so good for my skin tone! I don’t own anything in emerald green, but will now be on the hunt for a piece to add to my wardrobe.
7. My New Favorite Cardis
I’m not a big cardigan girl, though there was a point in my life when I owned cardigans in every color from J. Crew. I really love all of these cardis for different reasons. Reason one is that they were all sooo soft! Reason Two: These have the prettiest details — from stitching to ribs and stripes. Of the three sweaters, the lavender cardigan was my absolute fav. I loved the ribbed detailing, and this one also has a zipper!
8. This Bright & Cheery Skirt
When I tried this outfit on, I felt so sleek and sexy! I love love LOVE this short-sleeved sweater. That paired with the wispy coral skirt took the cake for me and both came home!
9. My New Work Uniforms
I’m guilty of wearing plenty of black-on-black ensembles to work on the regular, but I loved trying out some different options. These pieces gave me a ton of inspo for spicing up my workwear. I think the pencil skirt is a great length, and the pleating details add a little extra to the outfit. But the showstopper for me was the blazer! The detailing, the patterns, everything about it was so good! The second option is more my style because it’s all black with a twist. The dress was ultra comfy, and I loved the animal print pattern and collar detailing.
10. An Easy Ivory Sweater
OMG, this sweater is what dreams are made of. It’s perfectly oversized, super soft and has elegant detailing. This find is from Free People and I’m wearing a size L. The entire ensemble just says cozy winter to me. What’s better than a chunky sweater with a great pair of corduroy jeans? I would style this with a fun pair of sparkly or metallic booties.
11. I’m A Sucker For A Great Statement Topper
I am a total sucker for a great statement jacket/blazer/ANYTHING, and I tried on so many incredible options. Both of these jackets came home with me, and let me tell you they are perfect! I am not usually a huge animal print fan, but I fell in love with this snake print blazer. It can be dressed up with a pair of black pants like I’m wearing below OR if you want to get even trendier, pair with a graphic tee or cute pair of ripped jeans. The second was my fav because I love a good long duster-style blazer. I have wanted a structured duster like this forever, and this was the first time that I actually found it available in plus size! Thank you to the Fashion Gods for finally increasing options for curvy gals!
12. A Versatile Velvet Shirt Dress
Last (but certainly not least) was this luxe velvet shirt dress from EILEEN FISHER. It’s such a simple piece, but IT feels so elegant. I loved the second option of wearing it as an open duster.
Shop My Nordstrom Editor Picks
To say I shopped till I dropped would most definitely be an understatement. I had such a blast trying on all these great looks, and can’t wait to get back into Nordstrom soon to see what new pieces will be available.
