Happy Friday, and happy first day of March! Just a few more weeks until warm days and evening sunsets. Until then…let’s pass the time with the best sales to kick off a new month.

Head over to Gap for 30% off tons of styles with code: GREAT, and even bigger savings if you’ve got GapCash to spend. Ready for a denim refresh? We’re fully embracing a new era of exciting styles, whether that’s a statement pair like Linzi’s two-tone flares, cargo jeans, or a relaxed wide-leg (with really cool seam details). Or, perhaps, my favorite — these loose pinstripe carpenter jeans. These “not-your-typical-jeans” are breathing new life into our outfits. Grab your favorite sneaks, a go-to top and this trench coat (a wardrobe essential to wear over everything) and voila. You’ve got an easy, everyday outfit for spring that feels fresh.

Bruh. I’m feeling some type of way about the fashion trends of 2024 right now. I do NOT want to wear exclusively baggy, loose, oversized, barrel, HORSESHOE (WTF IS EVEN HAPPENING NOW) jeans…I want to be sexy, dammit! And who decided it was time to declare Golden Goose sneakers OUT? Like, um…those were not a cheap investment, people, and it took me years to pull the trigger in the first place! Plus, they’re like the MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I own. Gah.

Ok, rant over. For now. So…Abercrombie’s sale section is really good right now. This cream coat is on clearance (over 50% off and loved by reviewers), there are a ton of denim shorts on sale (these are my top pick) in both regular and curve love fits, and I have this bodysuit in multiple colors and love it.

Gap slim jeans on sale, MOTHER denim jeans on sale

Jeans (28s), Cardigan (s) | Tee (more sizes here, or similar), Jeans, Belt, Boots

ONE: Gap’s High Rise Vintage Slim Jeans are STILL one of my favorite silhouettes and NO I DON’T CARE THAT THEY AREN’T BAGGY…these just look better on my body. That look on my face pretty much sums up how I feel about your loose, baggy barrel jeans. (Sexy will never be out of style, Shana!🤣)

TWO: MOTHER has some awesome deals right now, and these jeans are probably my top pick (but I’m also eyeing up this pair made with Lyocell 😍). I’m wearing them here with Free People’s gold rush tee (also on crazy sale–down from $78 to $29).

Hey, hey Friday! Today is haircut/color day for me and it’s my favvvv. I’m growing it out some and so it’s been a while, but gahhhh isn’t getting your hair done the best thing ever? Speaking of best things ever, my child once asked me “isn’t the taco supreme the best thing that’s ever happened to you, besides me?” This kid, y’all. The stuff that comes out of her mouth. She also said not long ago, while waiting for me to look at some teeny tiny handmade animal she found and wanted on Etsy, “I’ll just sit over here and wait for my dreams to come true.” Pray for me as we enter middle school this year. LOL. The DRAMA in this one.

Sale finds are bussing right now, friends. I’ve never used that term before but hey, trying new stuff keeps us young. Saks’ sale is still going strong and I freaking want this Alice + Olivia top (20% off on purchases over $250). It’s out of my budget right now, but I MUST be craving spring. The photos on Bloomie’s site are the ones that had me drooling. My very favorite Nike Dunks high tops in the dark taupe and black are available and on sale here! I wear them almost everyday and that colorway is bomb with everything. Boden’s new swim is 15% off and while I haven’t worn a tankini in forever, I find myself really wanting this one in saffron + navy. SO good.

J.Crew swimsuit and coverup on sale, Everlane Dream Pants black trousers on sale

Cover-up (m), Swimsuit (8) | Dream Pant (s)

ONE: I have a J.Crew swim article coming out soon, but this perfection of a cover-up is on sale right now! (So is the suit!) It’s the perfect length, a beautiful light fabric and just all-around amazing. Wearing a M.

TWO: Everlane has a great Buy More/Save More sale right now (20% off $250), and you could easily build a very go-to travel, work or everyday outfit. Be sure to include these Dream Pants if you do. They are the best black pant for comfort (read: elastic waistband) and versatility. They run TTS but size up if you want a bit looser fit. I’d probably get a M these days. They are SO good, friends. And offered in a range of sizes! They’re a forever closet item for me.

It’s Friday, it’s March, it’s GapCash time, and I can actually breathe through my nose (all reasons to celebrate!). Last weekend was spent taking care of a sick toddler and the entire following week nursing myself back to health…but this morning I’m finally feeling sunshiny again. As I write this, my 3 year old is sitting behind me singing along to Taylor Swift songs (my husband just asked, and I quote, “OH MY GOSH, howww do you know all of the words?”), and I couldn’t be a prouder mom. I think a Swiftie dance party is in our future now that we’re all healthy and happy over here.

Speaking of GapCash, they just released some pretty little things for Spring and this top (color: Frothy Aqua Green) and this bag are what I’m probably using mine on. But ALSO, take a moment to peruse Vuori’s sale section this weekend, if only for the fact that they just added all of their jackets (the Sherpa Hooded Trench?! I waaaaant!).

Gap Icon Trench Coat on sale, Lunya washable silk pajamas on sale at Nordstrom

Jacket (m) | Washable Silk PJs (m)

ONE: One of my favorite purchases of 2023 is back in stock AND 30% off with code GREAT. I have a full blog dedicated to this trench coat and why it’s a wardrobe workhorse. Even more, they released the jacket in the most stunning shade of navy for spring. It’s making me seriously consider owning two. Completely unnecessary, but like, could you imagine the outfits?!

TWO: Nevermind the fact that I wish I would have steamed these pajamas so you could get a proper depiction of how glorious they are (whatwasithinking), Lunya is easily my favorite when it comes to washable silk (and my set is on sale in a few colors at Nordstrom!). The price point is steeper compared to competitors but the quality is most definitely higher. Detailing goes into the stitching that competitors seem to cut corners on, making it so these PJs lay the best on your body, provide zero fuss or annoyance when cuddled in bed. And their oversized silhouettes? That’s just a personal fave. Also on sale in a pants + cropped blouse set, too!

God, I love this group. I’m over here bathing in piles of barrel jeans like I’m Richie Rich on a bed of cash, Scotti is gagging in her mouth and we all still love each other. It’s what 2024 fashion is about, friends. Wear whatever the hell you want and own that shit.

Let’s jump into sales. High on my list this week: Abercrombie brought back one of their top selling dresses in 16 colors (!!) for spring, and it’s under $100; this waxed jacket is the rain solution I’ve been searching for when heavy-duty weather hits but I still want to look kinda cool; and, of course, I’ve gotta throw in some barrel jeans, ha! The black wash in my fave Heritage Curve style is now additional 40% off, so if you want to test your gag reflex just a little, you can do it for under $60. 😜 Happy Friday!

Denim Puffer jacket outfit

Puffer (s) | similar jeans | similar boots

I snagged this denim puffer jacket on final sale a few weeks back and am just freaking delighted by it. It’s no longer final sale (confusing for me, good for you!), so if it’s still puffer weather where you are, it’s a really fun addition. The denim is soft, not stiff, it’s got a quilted lining that makes it easy to slide over layers, and it feels so effortlessly cool. Wearing a small.

This week was a trial, honestly. My sweet little five-year-old Pekingese slipped a disc in his neck and needed surgery, which was hard on his tiny little body. I am so incredibly grateful that my furry little angel pulled through and that we were able to access such amazing veterinary care. The only priority for me this week was helping my little guy make it. Now that he’s at home recovering, I’m breathing a sigh of relief and looking forward to having a normal week next week.

In terms of fashion, I’m weirdly excited for the new season. Spring is usually my least favorite fashion season – I’m not a big fan of pastels or florals, and I find the transitional weather kind of a pain to dress for. But I’ve found some great spring items on sale this week, like these chic and fun printed palazzo utility pants and this sweet, mint-colored blouse (under $40 in cart!). Plus, I’m stoked that Everlane is offering up to 30% off with a minimum spend. The beautiful soft sage shade Everlane has introduced for spring is perfect for this classic cashmere crewneck.

Everlane barrel jeans, Madewell Harlow Pants black trousers

Barrel Jeans (32) | Pants (12)

ONE: Guys, I have been *on a quest* to find barrel jeans that work for my pear-shaped body type and midrange size (14/32). Finally, I found them – the Everlane Way High Curve Jean. Everlane is offering 20% off a $250 spend or 30% off a $350 spend this weekend, so now is the time to stock up on their high-quality staples. I’m also a huge fan of their buttery soft Mary Janes and their micro rib turtlenecks.

TWO: I’m a broken record about the virtues of the Madewell Harlow pant, but I don’t think I’ve had a chance to share a photo of what the satin Harlow pant looks like on me. I just love these pants, either paired with the matching blazer, or dressed down for a chic contrast in texture with a sweater or tee. The black and iced mocha colors are both beautiful and marked way down to under $40 right now.

Jon and I are looking for a second dog to add to our family and we’ve been spending the last few weekends visiting dogs at the animal shelters. When we adopted Gus, it was the easiest decision in the world. But we’ve only ever been a one dog home, so it’s been a little tougher this time around. We pretty much fall in love with every dog we meet, but we need to make sure it’s a good fit for us and Gus, our excitable, sensitive guy. Wish us luck. Oh, also, is anyone else watching the latest season of ‘Love is Blind’ on Netflix? I’ve not watched any of the other seasons but I’m living for the drama.

As for sales, this week I spent my remaining monthly clothing budget at Sak’s 20% off sale. I picked up this Free People wide-leg denim jumpsuit that I have high hopes for and another pair of Free People barrel jeans because I am practically living in FP jeans right now.

Faherty henley sweater, Amazon cropped puffer vest

Top (m) | Vest (m)

ONE: Faherty’s Mikki Organic Cotton & Cashmere Henley Sweater –  I am forever singing the praises of this Faherty sweater. It’s one of my most worn tops of the last few years and it’s 40% off right now. I have a feeling that this might be one of the last chances to get this one before it sells out.

TWO: Dacee’s Lightweight Cropped Vest – I loved this lil’ cropped vest and it’s 38% off on Amazon. It comes in different colors, if ‘lifeguard green’ isn’t your jam.

Gosh, it’s March already. HOW? February was such a rocky month for me, that I’m just waking up from processing it all. I’m glad sunnier days are ahead and that I’m already seeing more color when I browse the web for clients and myself. Some exciting things happening this month? I’m making some changes to my styling business, and for the first time ever, you can get $50 off of my “Discover your Best Colors” service. Get ready for Spring and Summer, confident in your colors and style! This is for March only and there’s 5 spots left. Hope to see you there!

Now sales-wise: if you didn’t take advantage of Saks this week, Bloomies has a 20% off 200 or more. Perfect to get designer jeans for less, like my favorite wide-legs below.

Joe's Mia High Rise Wide Leg Jeans

Jeans (27)

Joe’s Mia Wide Leg Jeans – If there’s a denim silhouette I will keep wearing  this year is the wide leg. Sexy, flattering, while also being super comfy. My favorite Joe’s reference is ready for Spring with a white version, and this mid-blue wash.

  1. I’m with you, Scotti, and am happily continuing to wear my skinny jeans, which flatter my shape. Big baggy jeans, while current, would make me look and feel frumpy and larger than I am, which would just feel…. not like me. I’m too old for that! Wear what you like!!

  2. Super with you Scotti. I LOVE my Gap cigarette/vintage slims (although I wish they made them longer–I already order them in tall but I’m 5’10”), I like a 501. I can go as far as trouser jeans (fitted through the hips and butt), but the baggy, saggy stuff is a big no. (It was the same for me in the actual 90s.)

Emily, that leather IS everything. I need another leather jacket like I need a hole in my head, but damn.
