The Best Sweaters in the 2026 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

When the preview came out, we were feeling a little, well, womp womp about the sweater collection, but that’s typically how the sweater preview goes every year. And yet, we remained hopeful because we did spy some really great 100% cotton and 100% cashmere pieces. As always, we never truly know until we’re in store, trying on. 

With that being said, let’s get into the best sweaters of Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale 2026.

Nordstrom’s cashmere sweaters are great, especially when you size up a couple sizes like Shana for that slouchy fit. They always come in the prettiest colors, too (we’re eyeing the blue in the sale, but theres six other options). And, if you’re ever looking for a good skiing midlayer – this guy. S recommends washing in a mesh bag, on cold, and lying flat to dry.

From Abby: Practically a Guest In Residence copycat but ~$200 less? I’ll take it. It’s no secret a pop of this fiery red has been one of our favorite things since the spring, and now we’re really excited to bring it right into fall. 100% cashmere too, ahhhhh. S styled it up in her try-on with a red windbreaker and we looooove.

This is an obvious win. Staud’s Hampton Zip Sweater has been around for years and I just love seeing what new color ways they bring out every season. It’s the perfect pullover sweater for any time of year, IMHO.

From S: Gang, Linzi has owned this hoodie for several years now (it’s a piece that’s been in the NSale before), and loves it so much it was literally the FIRST thing she went for at 7AM in-store last year. And she’s obviously onto something because it sold out fast. Here’s hoping Nordstrom got the message and fully re-stocked for this year!

It’s 100% cashmere, soft, and looks really cute layered under some sort of fall jacket (even a leather jacket!). 

Size notes: I prefer to size up in all of Nordstrom’s cashmere – I love when they’re extra slouchy. Linzi is wearing both a size large (in the gray) and a size small (in the black) so you can see exactly how they fit.

I can always count on Faherty for some seriously cool, really well made, everyday pieces. I love that this particular sweater is made from 100% organic cotton, with a cool, boyish fit and tons of texture. This sweater is available in three colors, but the brown is my favorite  – it’s so rich.

The pointelle knit gives it that delicate, textured look without being fussy, and the cotton-cashmere blend keeps it light instead of bulky. Fit-wise, it’s not too clingy and not too loose… just a really flattering, fitted silhouette with a classic V-neck and button front. And obviously, the shade of green is gorgeous. Fits TTS

These colors were giving me life. The sweater = SOO SOFT that I was blown away. It is perfectly sloughy (just a little oversized) and the bright blue stripe is really playful. I thought it went so well with the green utility pants but I can’t wait to pair with all the fall jeans. Cozy & perfect.

I really like a short sleeved sweater once in awhile, they’re just great for transitional layering. This one is SUPER soft + fits TTS. A heather grey is one of my favorite colors to wear with any wash of jeans / any color of pant, too, soooo it’s great.
