It’s been raining a lot lately, and I recently realized that although I have a ton of snow boots (we get a ton of snow), I don’t really have a go-to pair of boots to wear when it’s raining and/or the snow is melting and the temperature isn’t super cold. I do wear my UGGs a lot (snagged these platforms at the beginning of the season!), but I don’t want to wear them in serious rain or snow. And if my feet are cold or wet, I am not going to be comfortable, so it all starts with the boots.
7 Waterproof Boots for Fall & Winter
So I went on a hunt for some waterproof boots that were cute, comfortable, and waterproof. I didn’t include water resistant in my search, because I really wanted a pair that would hold up in the wettest weather – there’s nothing worse than leaky sides and damp socks! I ordered and tried on a bunch (7 exactly), and although these Sorel boots were my favorites, there were a lot of other options I liked.

I should have guessed these would be my favorites because I’ve loved Sorels for years…like since I was a little kid (and I buy them for my kids now as well!). They’re always super comfortable and warm and I love that these are also waterproof. They come in a number of different colors (I was torn between these and the lighter beige), and the lug sole and higher shaft make them perfect to pair with cropped jeans.

I was surprised by how lightweight these were! These were more like a sneaker boot that’s completely waterproof. The inside is like a sneaker (with an OrthoLite® footbed – but no plush lining or anything), which makes these great for areas that don’t get super-freaking-cold (🙋♀️). I’m wearing the grey violet here, but there are a bunch of other colors…I’m kind of loving the black patent or the burgundy too.

The higher shaft is the best part of these boots–aaaand it comes with a zipper so you can take them on and off easily. There’s an extra panel inside the zipper that protects socks from water that might seep in. Stretchy panels on the side make them comfortable and easy to walk in. I ordered the 8/38EU, my usual size, and while they fit without socks, I’d probably go up a size so I could wear them with warm socks.

I love the moto-inspired details on these. The taller shaft prevents water from leaking into them, and there’s a removable cushioned insole for arch support. The zipper makes them easy to get on and off – and I love the versatility of a moto boot (especially one that’s waterproof!). (They also come in a gorgeous luggage nubuck color!)

These are lightweight and comfortable – perfect for rainy, wet days in the fall or when the snow melts in the spring. I buy Bogs shoes for the kids all the time, so I know they’re great quality. These are slip-on, but they’re not as easy to get on/take off as the kids’ shoes…I wish there was a zipper because of this, but it’s not a deal-breaker. I fell in love with the rainbow detail, although they come in a number of different colors (without the rainbow).

These are super comfortable! The stretchy back of the shaft make them easy to walk in. They’re lightweight and are so comfortable I didn’t have to wear socks with them. Reviewers LOVED these as well. One woman said she’s been on the hunt for comfy and cute boots for years due to neuropathy in her feet and these were perfect for her. I love this bone color, but I’m eyeing up that gorgeous grey suede they come in as well…also in light brown or dark brown suede or black leather.

I didn’t realize these were actually more like snow boots…and super warm! These quilted boots would be better in colder climates…they’re super soft inside, with a cushioned footbed, and comfortable from the second you put them on. These cute snow boots actually fit under jeans without being super bulky and I love the extra height they give (2.25 inches) without hurting feet. (Also in a shiny taupe color I love or classic black nylon.
