Happy weekend! Cross your fingers it doesn’t rain tomorrow. I’ve got a picnic planned with friends and very high hopes for sunshine. Hope you’ve been soaking up all the summer fun, too. That said…the sales this weekend? Too good to pass up. So yes, some shopping will definitely be happening. Let’s get into it.
The Best Sales This Weekend
- Anthro – sale section right now is great. Jess’ gorgeous floral dress is in the sale, but there’s sooo many good ones: slouchy denim, this fun print, and an easy smocked gauze one for everyday. Also, pants that look like skirts: silky or embroidered. Eyeing these crotchet flats + olive tee + slouchy bag, too.
- Gap – Summer sale. Shana just got these jeans in the floral print (and has the cow print, too). Currently have this dress (with pockets!) in my cart. Jess’ pretty set’s on sale, too (top + skirt).
- Calpak – 60% off. Sale includes Laura’s go-to travel set: this duffle + this carry-on.
- Clare V. – End of season sale. Our fave Pot de Miel but in powder blue?? Oooo, yes. Can’t stop thinking about this one in both the cream & hazelnut. Last — this tee is asking to go to the shore.
- Nordstrom – sale section. Vacation dress, everyday dress, this top (in lemon) for wearing over tanks, bsuits + shorts, & a skirt for work (because why not?).

Hey, Friday. It’s the freaking weekend! But I have forgotten what day it is anyway. #vacayproblems I’m having a wonderful time with family this week (AND Amy yesterday!!) but also stressed to the max with all that’s going on in my world right now, so I am low on niceties to write here today. If you’re dealing with all the things in your brain and heart right now, too, I see ya. Hugs.
Per usual, this lovely job here is a welcome distraction though. There are some really amazing sale finds this weekend. I still want this gorgeous bag (the shape, the color, the details) on sale, and these shorts are all I want to sleep/lounge in in the summer (and they’re $16.) Oh and these are 20% off if you prefer pants. Give me all the poplin. It washes and wears so beautifully soft.

ONE: I have this little Gap Factory apron tank in 2 colors. The cherries are SO fun! Wore it with mustard yellow pants to lunch the other day, too. The black and other colors probably have more sizes stocked, but it’s such a steal for such an adorable summer top. TTS.
TWO: Ooh Vuori Performance joggers are rarely on sale and if you don’t know this fabric is the BEST workout and lounge fabric ever. Nordstrom has them in a pretty sage green discounted right now. I forgot a pair on this trip and I am SO wishing I had them. They are so versatile and SO comfortable. TTS.

June went by realllllly fast for me. I hate when months do that. So here are my goals to hopefully let July simmer a little longer, a little sweeter: Find 2 books to add to my kindle. Bake more (cookies, cakes, all the treats). Continue with the post-dinner bike/walk routine Jude and I just started last week. Say yes every time Jude asks to go to our neighborhood pool, no matter how messy the house is. Drink wine more freely. Stay up late to watch a show only I love (especially once The Summer I Turned Pretty S3 comes out).
Sales are gonna make these goals even easier: I think I need this for late night tv show watching (and book reading, duh), this stunning tool for my wine (would be a really cute gift for a wine lover), and probably should be wearing these for literally all of the above (my new fave brand).

ONE: I keep talking about these because I, uh, well, just keep wearing them over and over. They’re probably the comfiest pants I have this summer (which is saying something, my summer pants collection is GOLD). *Perfect* 90’s vibes and easy for the office to home.
TWO: They’re calling this tee cropped but I def don’t consider it to be – more of a classic, hip length tee on me. UNBELIEVABLY light and soft, I can’t recommend enough especially during summer!!

My best friends are coming down this weekend and I could not be more excited. We’ve been friends for over 30 years now (!!) and I’m fully prepared for lots of laughs, inside jokes, and teasing each other about how we can’t see or hear anymore — but still somehow think we’re in our 20s. (At least I do.)
We’re even getting matching tattoos — each of us picked a little star, and an artist turned them into the cutest sparkles + stars design. It’s extra special because two of my friends are getting their very first tattoos…and one of them was with me when I got mine at 18. Now I get to be with her when she gets hers at 44. Full circle moment.

ONE: This tote’s been my go-to lately and it’s over $100 off right now! I’m obsessed with the metallic gold (obviously). It comes with a little pouch for loose stuff, a long strap to wear it crossbody, and a smaller size if you’re into something more compact. I also love the rose gold — it comes in three sizes: one smaller, one bigger, and one the same size as mine. (All on sale – and water-resistant, too!)
TWO: Favorite Daughter is my favorite way to splurge — and I couldn’t resist this yellow ruffly cami (especially now that it’s 35% off — over $70 off!). The floaty ruffles, crisscross spaghetti straps, tie-back detail… it’s flirty, fun, and totally adjustable for the perfect fit. (I also love that it can be tucked in or left out and works both ways!)

We had a pretty laidback week here in Grand Rapids, MI…hanging out with Jon and the dogs in the backyard, trying to beat the heat and get a few projects around the house started before heading out next week for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I treated myself to Lisa Jewell’s newest thriller: Don’t Let Him In, even though my TBR pile is out of control. I started it last night and can say it will be done later today. Worth it.
Um…Anthropologie’s sale section is an extra 50% off for Perks Members, which is free to sign up for! And three of the cutest dresses that I tried on at my latest Anthropologie Dressing Room Selfies Post are on MAJOR sale. Feels like 4th of July great sales have started early, right? Several retailers popped up on my radar late this week with some fun sales I had forgotten were coming. Many of you who have been following The Mom Edit for a while know I LOVE my statement-making bags…and LOVE how they can transform even the most basic of outfits that I wear on repeat. So…I was thrilled to see so many good ones on sale this week.
Clare V’s “End-Of-Summer” sale is fantastic! Tons of bags I’ve been eyeing for a while are now on sale. ABSOLUTELY worth seeing what’s left in stock before the sale ends if you’re a bag lover…so many good ones. I’m also eyeing this cute little Naghedi that will be in the Nordstrom Anni Sale, but I’m afraid it will go fast, so this one is also super cute and less expensive, but same style and size! This one too.
ONE: My overall top pick from my huge linen pant post (Athleta Retreat Linen Pants) is on major sale in all the colors! After years of being a favorite, it’s still my top pick for versatile, comfortable, cute linen pants that have a substantial “grown-up” feeling to them. Feel like I probably need to get the undyed natural color too. 100% linen (certified European flax) and available in petite, regular, & tall sizing.
TWO: From the Clare V Summer Sale, I ordered this cutie denim bag (I saw it being worn by someone else and it’s SO freaking chic!), but I also ordered this brown puffy zip tote that I’ve been eyeing forever (final sale, tho) and also this tote in cream (that I’ve also been eyeing). Super excited about this order coming in…great prices on gorgeous outfit-making bags.

Greetings from Tahoe! We’re back in the Sierras, and considering how often we’re up here, we don’t actually get to the lake that often. The weather is perfect, and Lake Tahoe’s famous blue waters are as saturated as I’ve ever seen them. A technicolor dream up here, at the moment. I’ll share a peek on IG when I get a chance. It’s absolutely unreal.
As goofy as it sounds, pre-NSale is my favorite time of year for shopping Nordstrom. It’s like all the current and past season stuff becomes chopped liver and is priced accordingly, and I am here for it. Like these perfect sandals, which I just oooohed and aahhhhed over on Facebook? Now 40% off. Or this extremely cool Desigual blazer that I suspect is easier to wear than it seems? I don’t need a statement piece like this for fall, but I need a statement piece like this for fall.

ONE: The mood-boosting mushroom powder I add to my daily latte (the ‘shrooms + ashwaganda duo genuinely kicks stress to the curb almost instantly) is 20% off. There’s a capsule version, too, that I take on days when making a hot drink isn’t in the cards.
TWO: My stripey “linen” pants are finally on sale! First time I’ve seen them marked down this season. They’re a little heavier (and thus less crinkly) than linen, the stripe is woven into the fabric so it’s beautifully textural and they’re comfy as can be. Pockets, too. They run large – I’m wearing a small and it runs more like a medium.
