Hey hey Friday. Le sigh. I do love fall though. My favorite thing about my new little duplex I bought last year is that the backdoor is a sliding glass door to the backyard and I can slide the screen door over and get fresh air and a lovely view. It’s saving me. There are some giant Doug Firs in my view and lots of crow and other little bird sounds. I love having my coffee and just staring out the glass door with my pup snoring beside me. Oh and of course my NYT games are part of this morning ritual (my favorites are Spelling Bee and Wordle and the new Midi crossword.) Also just wanted to give a little shoutout to our Discord channel for truly supportive mom talk. It’s rough out there right now and there are some of the best peeps over there sharing our experiences for some much needed solidarity.
There are some great tried and true pieces on sale this weekend. One of my top picks is Gap’s Modal pajamas. Besides some other fancy pjs I love they are my favorites. And some colors are on major sale! Top and bottoms. Speaking of comfy clothes, I bought these wide leg gray sweatpants recently and am IN LOVE. They are the baggy fit I wanted and so freaking comfy. I got a M and they’re perfectly oversized.

ONE: One of our team’s very favorite sweaters is on sale right now at Gap for 50% off! There are some gorgeous shades, too. It’s just so classic and has just the right oversized fit. It’s fab. TTS. Wearing a M. Size down for more of a classic fit.
TWO: The Sorel clogs we’ve all fallen in love with for this time of year are on sale in 2 tan shades at Nordstrom…Tawny Buff and Iced Tea suede. They’re so comfy (Kat has walked miles in them) and hold up to weather. TTS.

Does anyone else dread picking up their phone in the morning? Like, what fresh hell has been wrought in our country since yesterday? And somehow it’s usually worse than I imagined. And not to brag, but I am pretty good at imagining bad scenarios in my head, thanks to my overactive imagination and my Evangelical upbringing (so says my therapist). Anyways, I just dropped off my mail-in ballot to a secure drop box location, so there is that.
I’ve been living in Evereve’s sale section lately, seriously so much good stuff on sale to browse through over there. In my cart currently are these Citizens of Humanity straight-leg jeans and these studded ballet flats. Also, 30% off over at Banana Republic’s Fall Edit! When there is a BR sale, you can bet I’m there!
Pants (M) | Sweater (M) | Ballet Sneakers (7.5)
ONE: Wayf High-Waist Helene Satin Pants – These pants are really, really good. The quality of the fabric looks and feels much more expensive than they are, like Reformation but for ⅓ the price!
TWO: Gap 100% Cotton Cable Knit Oversized Sweater + Puma Speedcat Go Etoile Sneakers I will never stop singing the praises of Gap’s cable knit sweater, as long as it is in stock! It’s by far my most worn sweater of all time and it’s 40% off currently. Also, these Puma ballet sneakers are 25% off and some of the prettiest ballet sneakers I’ve tried.

My brother and sister-in-law and mother and niece are all in town this weekend so it’s going to be a packed house! 🤎Getting right to it.
SALES: I LOVE Alice + Olivia’s stuff, but OMG it’s expensive. 😂 I’m obsessed with the wash on these low-rise jeans, and I love that there’s a buckle in the back so you can adjust the fit. (Down from $350 to $210!) Also, this lace bodysuit 😍 It has a nude lining, the prettiest tie at the neck, and would look SO good layered under blazers, button-downs, or even sheer tops. (Almost $100 off right now, too.) And there’s a LOT more good stuff marked down right now.
If you need to restock any of your Elemis favorites, now’s the time–they’re including a free gift (worth $119) with ANY full-size Elemis purchase. It includes minis of their bestselling Pro-Collagen Night Cream, Hydrating Cleansing Mousse, and Cleansing Balm, plus 14 of their Dynamic Resurfacing Facial Pads. 🙌🏼
Happy weekend, everyone!

jeans (28) | similar t-shirt | boots ($50 off w/ OCTSG) | loafers
ONE: I love when Rag & Bone’s Miramars go on sale. They look like jeans but feel like sweatpants, and I get compliments on mine all the time. They run slightly big and are currently almost 50% off ($140, originally $278).
(The STAUD boots I’m wearing are $50 off with code OCTSG, with bigger discounts if you spend more…up to $250 off $1,000).
TWO: 30% off the most comfortable loafers I have ever tried. I can never find loafers that fit and are soft and comfy, but these are perfect. LOVE the color, too (also in an olive green, baby blue, and dark camel).

My child has discovered Monopoly. We’ve had the junior version kicking around our house for probably a good year now, but this week he pulled it from the game shelf, asked me to play, and something clicked. I’ve started having flashbacks of when my older sister and I would start Monopoly in someone’s bedroom, only to leave it going for days. We’d pick up after school, on the weekends…sometimes I think we just gave up. Thankfully, the junior version is actually quite easy to go bankrupt in, so while we aren’t leaving up a running game for days on end, we are playing a minimum of 3 rounds before dinner. & I’m loving every freaking minute of it.
Top sale finds? This padded satin bomber jacket would look so good on top of your favorite worn-in jeans. A sweater for those who want the summer vibes to last well into fall (it’s soooo pretty). But I definitely think this is my fave sale find of the weekend…but WHICH COLOR.

sneakers | socks | fleece pullover (2x) | shorts (L) | button down (L) | flats
ONE: A very similar colorway to my fave sneakers is a part of their current Fall Sale promo – easily my most worn sneaker these days; pair with a black sock for a super chic combo, top with a fleece.
TWO: The soft, silky fabric of this button-up is unlike anything I’ve ever owned. It’s super versatile – perfect for the office, dressing up, or just a chic pairing to your fave denim. Runs oversized, size down for a more fitted look. *pants not on sale but such a fantastic piece!

Had to double check that today wasn’t Friday the 13th based on how things kicked off. It was a weird one here in Half Moon Bay, improved a bit by a TK trip to the pumpkin patch, which was chaotic in the most delightful way. Tonight we’re meeting up with pals for Himalayan food, followed by movie night (my vote was for Ernest Scared Stupid, but alas Hocus Pocus won out) and a weekend full of family time and then Bruno Mars with friends. Things are looking up, for sure.
Sales this week! This workout set is so freaking chic. I’m grabbing it in two colors (the Grand Canyon and the Sycamore Bark) while it’s 40% off. Bottoms here. I’d wear the hell outta these, and they’ll go with all kinds of footwear (flats, boots, sneakers, high tops, heels…). And the exact knit texture on this top reminds of one I had thrifted (or was it my grandfather’s?) yearssss ago – ever so slightly slinky. Just perfect.

overalls (S) | similar bag | dress
ONE: My favorite overalls – this time on sale in three different washes. I’ve been eyeing the ecru for years (Shana and Abby have me convinced it’s such a wearable color, even in the fall) but I also love the darker wash. If you’re eyeing my wash, specifically, it’s here and there are also lottttts of other colors here.
TWO: It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a dress and thought wow, I need that. Such a great, better-than-basic LBD with a widely flattering neckline and ideal length. Chic in its simplicity, but it’s the perfect blank canvas for dressing up, too. Inclusive sizing, too.

Great FRANK & EILEEN warehouse started today (June 26, 2026)
Laura, I feel you. Swear to God if I survive this summer with both of my young-adult children and myself intact, it will feel like a miracle. I can’t even make a list because it would be way too long, but I feel all your things, just swap out teen drama and swap in trying to launch a new college grad (you’d be surprised all the adulting they don’t know despite all your best parenting efforts over the years, and all the strife of trying to learn to be an adult in this economy and job market), as well as helping the other kid, a 19 year old, navigate life FAR from home. Hugs!! We will get through this.
Scotti, I went through the same thing with my daughter her whole first grade year. It was hard! But she is now in graduate school so she made it through. Things that helped us: I stopped walking her to school and started driving (walking gave her too much time and space to dig in her heels and refuse), she picked her favorite song to play in the car on the way to school (her sibling did not love this but needs-must) and her school teacher made her a cozy corner with books, bean bag and I don’t remember what else but she was allowed to go straight there instead of waiting outside for class to start or going straight to her desk for whatever the rest of the class had to do. She didn’t spend the whole day there, just the first 5-10 minutes usually. All this helped get us through but it was still hard. Hugs to you both!
Hi Scotti, is Ozzie 3rd grade by any chance? Both of my girls really struggled in that grade. One cried every morning (her teacher was male and not nurturing and we had just moved from Germany to Hawaii), but she did fine in earlier grades. My other daughter would throw up almost every Monday morning. She was not actually sick but we had to treat it as such, but she was fine by noon and went in late once we knew it was stress. I will say that daughter also had a hard time in first grade at lunch because they played classical music that made her cry and she couldn’t eat. My oldest graduated a few years ago and my second is finishing up high school via a state virtual charter school. My son is homeschooled, I didn’t want to try anymore. We moved a lot (always in summer) which made things hard for my girls I am sure. They are also on the sensitive side and didn’t get into any trouble ☺️ Oh! I just remembered my 3rd grade trauma. My mom told us we would homeschool that year, and I was really excited. She had us dress up one morning for “pictures” then “suprised” us by showing up at school. I criiiiiiiied and hid in the car. My new teacher had to come talk to me. It turned out okay, but that was the worst first day of my life. Hugs to you and him, I know how hard it is on you both ❤️
