I have a slight addiction and it’s to Chelsea boots. If I claim London as one of my favorite cities and my style-icon, I guess I’m cool with this; the obsession isn’t slowing down anytime soon. I’m seeing Chelsea boots everywhere this fall and specifically pairs with a little western flair. It’s like my life in a boot…Nashville roots and London vibes. It’s what I love about cowboy boots and not what I don’t… plus, what’s so effortlessly cool about Chelsea boots with a new twist…all in one shoe.
The reasons I love this style: rad western details, classic Chelsea boot vibe, and more easily wearable with most styles of jeans & pants than any other cowboy boot style out there. The stretch gusset and lower leg shaft not only make them easy to put on, but they are flattering/narrow at the ankles and work with skinny, straight leg, wide leg, cropped pants and jeans. I was pleasantly surprised to find a really nice range of colors and prints and heel heights available in the western Chelsea boots right now, too (hi, navy patent stunners above). Something for everyone! I feel like these have the badass moto boot vibe, too, but again, are more easily wearable. Here I’ve pulled together a little roundup of my favorite pairs plus a few pics of how I like to style this boot. Then you can build up your own collection, too.

My Favorite Ways To Wear Western Chelsea Boots Right Now
1. Plaid Blazer + Graphic Tee + Cropped Straight-leg Jeans
OK, this is my new favorite combo. You could essentially pop on any of the boots in this post with this look, but it was fun to go with my new navy blue patent leather stunners. They’re dark enough blue to be really versatile, but the shine makes them a little exciting. They almost read really rad rain boot, and I’m cool with that.

2. Cozy Sweater + Black Wide-Leg Jeans
This is my new everyday outfit…a cozy sweater and cropped wide legs with an easy neutral boot. You could go more taupe or a brown natural leather color here or whatever shade blends with your skin tone, but I like this neutral color family with black jeans. It reads comfy casual, and the skin tone colors will make legs look longer with the cropped jeans.

3. Black Blazer + Gray Tee + Moto Jeans
Black and gray…you knew it was coming, especially from me. This is a great combo with the sharp blazer, but the moto-feel from the rest of the pieces. You know I love a good mixed-up combination and this one I wore to a conference earlier this year. It was a great travel outfit. These jeans are nice and stretchy and not too high-waisted.

4. Leopard Coat + Cozy Sweater Dress + Pop of Color Boots
And last but not least, throw on a bunch of animal print, your coziest dress, and add a pop of color with the boots. This is just a fun way to jazz up a lot of gray, honestly. Love it.

Love this post! I found the same Sam Edelman Winona boots in a really great neutral tan for 40 % off at Nordstrom. Not sure why they are so discounted (and fully stocked), but the tan color has proven to be great transition color for Fall (meaning the boots don’t cut my leg length off in weird ways when I wear them with skirts or cropped pants).

Ooh, totally agree on that neutral tan color…it’s SO wearable. What a score! Thanks, Rebecca!
Super into the sustainable brown suede pair! And I’m loving all your outfits too Laura!
Thanks so much! Love that pair, too!
Ankle booties are so versatile and perfect with everything, I can’t get enough of them. Chelsea boots have such a nice shape!
Totally agree, Kelsey! Love them!
I have Jeffrey Campbell Woodruff cut out boots in both blush (after stalking them at anthro for months and then finding 1 pair in store which was magically in my size AND 60% off!) and black/grey (found randomly on FB Marketplace a few weeks ago in my size, only worn twice, and for $40). They are insanely comfy and perfect for this time of year! I most recently styled the blush ones with cut off denim shorts with a mauve cropped sweatshirt with white lace back and the black/grey with black jeans and my TME x Voloshin striped top! Love the outfit suggestions you posted here, looking forward to trying them out as the temps start to drop!
That all sounds so so cute! They’re such a great style boot and totally for all year round! Love it. Thanks, Kelly!
I just bought the yellow/brown cropped cords from Madewell. I’ve been eyeing them for a while. I live in Colorado so when it gets cold, what reasonably comfortable boot should I pair with them? I know I can wear sneakers but at some point I may not want my ankles in the elements! Thanks.
