We went to Philly for the weekend, and when we came back, everything was covered in snow. Luckily, we’re used to this early(ish) snowfall and had our winter coats ready. Lord + Taylor had some amazing early deals on coats for the family that we took full advantage of — and their Black Friday deals are even better. (We’re talking about 60% off coats for the family, 50-80% OFF Black Friday SmartSteals (items that are coupon-excluded but listed at amazing price points), and our favorite cashmere sweaters on sale for under $50.) YES.
This was Ozzie’s first experience with snow (he probably doesn’t remember last year, right?), so it was fun to watch his reactions. He kind of just stood there, taking it all in . . . he seemed a bit unsure, so Greenlea gave him a little hug and kiss on the cheek. When she let go, he totally lost his balance and fell—face-first—into the snow. Welcome to the U.P., buddy. (He was fine after a few tears, FYI.)
Scotti’s Winter Outfit Details (Me)
Coat: DKNY Faux-Fur Hooded Puffer Jacket (xs) I LOVE this coat. It’s really warm and I love the longer length of the high-low hemline. You can cinch the back to keep cold air out and the faux fur hood replaces the need for a scarf.
Jeans: Democracy Distressed Denim Jeggings (tts, wearing 6, usually 28) I was really happy with these. The waistband is elastic for a no-gap waist, and they have mesh panels for tummy control. They kind of smooth everything out and are really comfortable.
Sweater: Lord & Taylor Essential Cashmere Crewneck Sweater (small, wearing Stone Heather) This sweater has become my favorite (I have it in rust, too). Super-soft, warm and comes in a TON of colors. You seriously can’t beat this sale for quality cashmere!
boots: Timberland Camdale Leather Lace-Up Boots I love these for winter because they don’t look like typical snow boots, but they’re still warm and comfy! (The heel doesn’t feel as high as it looks because of the platform.)
Zack’s Winter Outfit Details
Coat: Marc New York 2-in-1 Removable Quilted Bib & Coat The best part of this coat is that it can be kind of dressed up or down depending on the removable hood. Zack likes that it’s warm without being super thick.
Sweater: Black Brown 1826 Cashmere Crewneck Sweater (large, wearing Night Grey) Zack’s new favorite sweater. It comes in a ton of colors and is also available in a V-neck. (This makes a great gift!)
Jeans: Calvin Klein Straight-Fit Jeans These are soft and stretchy, and the dark wash is perfect for winter.
Boots: Sorel Cheyanne II Leather Lace-Up Boots – Here in the U.P. we swear by Sorels. These keep his feet warm and dry. and aren’t too heavy or clunky.
Greenlea’s Winter Coat
Coat: Urban Republic Hooded Faux Fur Jacket (wearing size 5) – This is SO soft and comfy. Greenlea loves wearing it.
Ozzie’s Winter Coat
Romper: Rothschild Baby Boy’s Camouflage Faux Fur-Trim Hooded Footie (size 12 months, it runs just a bit big) So warm and cozy — the hands are convertible so they can be covered or folded back. (We have little rain boots like this he can wear if we’re going to be walking around.)
