Baggy Jeans

An almost-classic in disguise.
Remember when Scotti and Laura reviewed rag & bone's faux jean joggers and gave them a big ol' thumbs down? While they both looked cute in those pants, there were some design flaws. As one example, the printed-on pocket details didn't line up with the actual pockets, and in the end, neither Scotti nor Laure kept them. (Actually, you...
I'm a pretty practical girl, Gang, so when winter comes, I need outfits that work with my usual winter boots: Sorels, Chunky Chelsea Boots (this pair specifically), Moon Boots and, uh, more Sorels. Think: warm and cute. Nothing is worse than cold feet or snowy ankles. And frankly, these are the same jeans I turn to in early spring,...
This pink puffer jacket — The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in 'faded rose,' to be exact — was 1 of my dreary February impulse purchases. While the nostalgia of the oversized baffles & retro detailing did call to me (I'm a '90s kid) I didn't expect to love this jacket nearly as much as I do.
This pink puffer jacket — The North Face 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket in 'faded rose,' to be specific — was one of my dreary February impulse purchases. I'm usually pretty good at curbing most impulse buys (thanks to this job, I'm getting better at knowing which pieces will really stick, so to speak) but February is The Month of...
This outfit fits my personal style perfectly: the jeans are slouchy and boyish, while the & is a liiiiiitle sexy. I love outfits that keep 'em guessing: Are you dressed up? Nah. But...maybe?
There's an outfit I've been wearing on repeat for the last several months. Most of it has been hidden away under layers of sweaters, hats, mittens and scarves, but I'm now realizing that if I strip it down to its basic components...this outfit makes transitioning to spring pretty darn easy. jacket (s) | bodysuit (s) | jeans (26) |...
These American Eagle ripped skater jeans take me back to the '90s...in all the best ways. The loose, easy fit; the distressing; the wide-leg silhouette...all in the most ridiculously soft + comfortable (non-stretch!) fabric ever.
I knew I would love these skater jeans the second I saw them online. With a rating of 4.6 from over 50 reviews, these jeans are SO good, you guys. I had high hopes when I ordered them, and when I felt the fabric in my hands, I was like yaaaaaassss. American Eagle Ripped Skater Jeans Are A '90s-Style...
Both jeans are a fantastic investment pair. The Citizens of Humanity work great for my height & even a few inches shorter; the GRLFRND pair takes the cake for being the answer to those real long legs, 5’10” + up.
How does that saying go?  “You always want what you can’t have.” As a tall(ish) girl measuring 5’9”, it’s long jeans that pool around my feet that I really want -- and can never seem to find. I expressed this sentiment during a TME Zoom call once, only to be met with (lovingly) rolled eyes from the majority of the...
So when I got the Sorel Brex Waterproof Chelsea Boots in, with their non-slip, grippy bottoms & squishy walkable sole, I knew these would be in heavy rotation...as long as I could figure out some go-to outfit formulas.
I almost always dress from the shoes up. Shoes (or boots) are the most weather- and activity-dependent, and I'm not one to suffer for fashion. So for each pair of shoes (or boots) that I own, I like to have a handful of go-to outfits I can rely on. That's not to say that I don't branch out, but...
Dressing for an après ski situation that occurs après shower, however, is tricky. It's cold, it's snowy & yet *this girl* still wants to look cute. We are Going Out Somewhere, after all.
In my mind, there are two kinds of après ski: the kind that follows naturally after a long day of skiing (usually done in ski gear), and the kind you take a shower for. In either case, when it comes to après ski...I'm in. Dressing for an après ski situation that occurs après shower, however, is tricky. It's cold, it's...
I’ve been really happy with this new outfit: long, loose jeans & platform booties. There's something very nonchalant-cool-girl about this combo + frankly, I'm 99.9% sure I had an outfit almost exactly like this in the '90s.
As I've mentioned before, once the snow starts, I'll likely go back to tucking skinny jeans into a pair of Sorels. But until then, I've been reallllly happy with this new combination: long, loose-fitting jeans and platform booties.
