I’m a mom of two tiny boys and as such, I spend much of my week in jeans and t-shirts. There’s little else that’s appropriate for playground outings, trips to the zoo and building block towers on the floor, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to try to look good . . . in addition to being somewhat vain, my husband works from home, for goodness sake, so I try to keep greasy hair and pajamas-till-noon days to a minimum in the interest of keeping the luv alive. Enter fancy tees.
The Christmas tree is waiting to be composted, the guest laundry is done, the china is stored until next year and every last bit of New Year confetti is vacuumed up. Time to scour the interweb for the best post-holiday sales! This week we’ll feature our fav sale items from the big retailers.
Reader Question: Hello Shana, Since I found your blog through Baby Bunching last week, I've been obsessed and some of the highlights of my past week have been finding new posts each morning. I've devoured every bit of your blog, love your fashion sense and advice, and desperately need your help! You posted a great article, "Dressing Your Postpartum Pouch on The...
Dads, let’s face it. You're shopping last minute: you need something fast and you need something shiny. . . Worry not. I'm a magpie-like connoisseur of shiny objects and here I submit a few suggestions for you to offer up to your beloved baby mama.
While a backlit digital watch is not my favorite accessory (for those, click here), there are a lot of digital watches out there that can be worn beyond the darkened room of your babe. A good rule of thumb for wearing a digi is to embrace the inherent awkwardness and in fact enhance it by going with something chunky and larger-scale, thereby making it cool. Digis only look truly lame when you're wearing a diminutive ladies' version, which generally have no sense of irony. Check out these cute and styley options in order of price, lowest to highest.
Reader Question: Can I pair the dressy satin shorts with a flowy sleeveless blouse for a holiday party? I live in Florida... Answer: Yes!  Especially if you are lucky enough to be enjoying the sunshine at this time of year, dressy shorts with fab heels and a flowy little top are a perfect choice for a holiday party!  Be careful of the...
Over the last week we’ve been talking about putting together holiday looks with simple, easy-to-wear items you might already have in your closet. Now it’s time to pull it all together with your accessories. I’m suggesting some pretty budget-busting options, but with the vintage-feel and focus on detail that most of these items have, you can definitely find comparable if not better pieces if you get creative: raid your grandma’s jewelry box for early inheritance pieces, go thrifting and, if all else fails, hit your friendly Claire’s Boutique for disposable versions of these high end looks.
For the last two weeks, Ain't No Mom Jeans has been focusing on easy ways to look festive for the Holidays.  All of our advice has been surrounding the principle of investing in one fab Holiday item and mixing it in with your current comfy basics.  Blogger Emily Schuman of cupcakesandcashmere.com, is the Guest Blogger for December on luckymag.com. ...
Dressy shorts are the cornerstone of my new favorite holiday look.  They manage to convey the feeling of a little cocktail dress, but can be paired with a warm, cozy sweater and sleek tights.  I can also bend down and pick up the little man, sit on the floor, or do other various mom maneuvers without worrying about accidental...
I love my fancy pants.  I actually bought these babies...OMG...wait...6? No...7 years ago?  Could that be right?  Anyway, these are one of my favorite things to pull on when I'm having a "I'm too cold to go out and WAAAY to cold to pull on a cocktail dress" moment.  Like many of the other styles we've highlighted in our Holiday...
