Cheapchica.com, a fantastic blog that focuses on budget-friendly fashion, has a great post that is also mom-friendly.  Cheapchica reminds us that a "dressy cardigan" is a great, on-trend look for fall. She's right!  And...a dressy cardigan is an easy update to the usual mom uniform.  Just throw it on over your jeans and a tank...and voila!  Instant chic.  See all...
So my final installment of Sweatsuit Alternatives debuted today on Rookie Moms.  I focused on an easy, Audrey Hepburn inspired look for the final sweatsuit alternative.  NOTE:  I love the comments from Rookie Mom readers on this look - they are completely right!  If you are a very busty gal, skip the turtleneck and instead try a black cowl-neck...
I tried a ton of nursing tanks my first go ‘round with the boy wonder, but never found one I really loved. The snaps sucked or the fabric had a weird sheen, they weren’t long enough or the waist had apparently been cut for someone who was still pregnant. Enter the new Gilligan & O’Malley nursing camis. They rock and they’re cheap to boot. They don’t offend on any of the aforementioned points and they’re widely available in the intimates section of Target.
If you weren't convinced, in last week's guest post on Rookie Moms, to trade in your sweatsuit, Rookie Moms and Ain't No Mom Jeans have again teamed up with another sweatsuit alternative. For those of you chanting, "Die, Sweatsuit, Die!" right along with me, you'll appreciate what Rookie Mom Whitney called my "anti-sweatsuit rant".  Love that.  For the rest of you...
I was so honored to be asked by the very fabulous Rookie Mom bloggers, Whitney and Heather, to write an article for Rookie Moms on three fashionable (yet comfortable) sweatsuit alternatives.  My first suggestion debuted today!   Go check it out here:  Sweatsuit Alternatives Part 1.  The second part of this article will be published sometime next week.If you...
I hit Target on Sunday at 8AM for the premier of the new Anna Sui line for Target.  Expecting an empty dressing room, I showed up with the little man.  BIG mistake.  Not only were there many other girls frantically throwing dresses into their shopping carts, but once little man finally figured out that he could fit under the...
I believe every Mom should have one great dress in their closet.  And by "great", I mean that the dress should make you look like a million bucks, make you feel like your old pre-baby, sophisticated, rockin' self (or a close approximation), and can be dressed up or down, depending on the situation. I know this sounds like...
I am a jean snob.  A complete, utter jean snob.  I am all about my denim - it's the currency I think in.  For example, when considering a purchase, say, one of the new iphones....I always break it down into jeans.  "Hmmmm...that iphone is going to cost me the equivalent of 1.5 pairs of jeans! Oooo....tough choice."  I think...
The 2000s have been an interesting decade from a fashion perspective.  In recent years, the look of the moment was "anything goes".  We paired military trends with 1920's dresses, boho 70's tunics with 80's riding boots, wore curve-hugging dresses reminiscent of a 1950's housewife, and re-invented the skinny jean.  It's like this decade has featured the greatest hits from...
When you gotta, go, you gotta go.  And my girlfriend's daughter, Aubrey, had to go.  Poop, actually.  Which she pointed out to her mother in a very matter-of-fact voice that only a recently potty-trained three year old can muster.  After an initial moment of panic, "You have to POOP?  Now?" Aubrey's mum, Sarah, recovered and dug a hole in...
