I've been having a problem with maxi dresses as of late.  At 6 months post-partum, I'm still just too poochy for most.  While an empire-waisted top will (typically) swing out nicely to hide the pooch, an empire-waisted maxi is so weighed down by all the extra fabric, it actually emphasises the pooch.  Not. Good. Heart-breaking, actually, considering that last summer...
Flares are incredibly flattering.  Worn with a pair of sky-high wedges, your legs go for days.  Legs for days.  What's not to like? But flares with flats can be tricky - especially for the petite.  (Hi. That's me.)  Even M has admitted to feeling a tad on the dumpy side when wearing flares with flats.  (NOTE -...
Hip Mama-to-be Nicole sent in this cool shot of herself sportin' a totally on-trend maxi skirt she scored at Goodwill.  Nicole says: When we became pregnant, I had just a few goals:  the first to stay healthy, to prepare a lovely home for my new bundle, try not to let my hormones take me too far off the deep...
Especially since having babies, I've become a bit of a handbag addict. Bags are the one fashion splurge I've always known would fit over the past four years as I've been pregnant, postpartum, nursing, pregnant again (whilst nursing!), postpartum, nursing, and yes, pregnant AGAIN (!).
I love the idea of sewing, of making my own clothes.  And someday when I grow up, I envision myself as Esther from Chinny Chin Chin.  The reality, however, is that not only do I NOT own a sewing machine, I've been known to staple the ribbons to my ballet shoes just to avoid any kind of sewing...
I love this pic that Streetstyle Aesthetic snapped during London Fashion Week: While I would love to lounge around in my high heels and silk ruffled top carrying everything I need in a bright clutch (sigh)...it's sooo not gonna happen. However, this girl is rockin' it.  And her color choices are nothing but totally inspired.  I love the loose definition of a suit here...
I have fond memories of my overalls.  I last wore them to a Michigan State tailgate.  Back when sorority girls felt sexy in things like flannel shirts and overalls.  (To this day, my husband likes them.  Nostalgia, perhaps?) But whatever.  I loved them then, and love them still.  I've been waiting (and predicted, in fact) an overall...
We've been inundated, over the last few months, with requests from readers who want to know exactly what to buy to improve their mom style.  Right now.  With budgets ranging from under $200 to much, much more than that.  Figuring out exactly what one needs is a fairly strenuous exercise, dependent on your own personal style and existing wardrobe.  It's...
I ran into Christie and her totally adorable son down by Coor's Field, heading into a sports pub for a drink/dinner/whatever. Let's stop, for a moment, and take note:  Red shoes on kiddos are possibly the coolest thing ever. Back to Christie:  I love everything about Christie's outfit.  It's basically the most mom-friendly outfit possible (I actually wear something like...
Happy Earth Week! As kids, Earth Day was the day when we were taught the three R's of environmentalism: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. As a mother, I still believe in these basics, but I'm actually starting to sweat the mess we are leaving to our children. We should be applying the simplicity of the three R's to our daily lives...
