Adventuring

We just spent our Spring Break in the most amazing place:  Banff National Park.  We took helicopter rides to see mountain glaciers up close, frolicked in hot springs, skiied through so much powder that my youngest was mad about it ("TOO MUCH SNOW, MOM"), rode chairlifts through the clouds only to find blue skies up top, and stayed at a mountain lodge...
If you follow me on IG (@shanachristine), you know that we recently returned from an amazing trip to Cuba.  I have so much more to say on that topic (hopefully next week??), but so many of you were asking for outfit details and my vacation packing list that I wanted to crank this one out. We visited Cuba at the end of...
As Spring Break approaches I find myself a leetle regretful that I didn't plan a warm weather trip for us this year. I mean, we're so much closer to Hawaii here in Portland and we still haven't been...next year maybe I can write a travel post on that trip! (Pinky, are you reading...) We were fortunate enough to get to...
Gang, we had an amazing time at Breckenridge over the holidays.  This was our second time going - we took the kids for Spring Break last year, too - and while there are a ton of different ski resorts to choose from.....we really, really love Breck. There's something so intense about a ski vacation - not only is everything so...
We have fun friends.  Namely, they know how to find fun that is both kid and adult friendly.  Balance, people.  It's all about balance.  And really, any fun that is to be had after 6PM - especially in the summer - should start with WIN and end with an E.  #winwithanE #thatswhatI'msaying So this past Thursday, we took the kids on a sunset...
Given the ages of my kids (4 and 7 at the time), our two favorite day trips from San Juan were hiking through the rainforest of El Yunque (and swimming in the waterfalls), and visiting Loquillo Beach.  Here are a few notes and pics from our trip: El Yunque Rainforest Hike (and Waterfalls) I spent a ton of time trying to find out...
About this time last year, with Spring Break looming on the horizon and wanderlust creeping into my veins, I sat Mike down in the kitchen.  The kids were in bed, the Scotch was poured and it was time to talk Plans (Mike's least favorite topic).  "Babe," I said.  "I really want to go somewhere different for Spring Break.  We spend most of...
SUMMER.  I wait all year for the season of beach days and s'mores and bubbles and sand between your toes.  I don't even mind the accompanying sweaty little heads and complaints of boredom because eventually sprinklers are turned on, popsicles are ready, fireflies come out, and summer works it's magic on us all. We just spent a glorious few days...
We spent a sun-and-fun soaked weekend in Cape May a few weeks ago, and it was one of those rare occasions that I managed to pack perfectly.  I brought just a few things, but felt chic and comfortable in every situation we encountered.  Here's what I brought...and how I plan to extend it for our beach week(s) in Michigan.   Weekend...
